WWE NXT plans to start 2016 with a bang, UK shows major hits
According to dailywrestlingnews.com, WWE NXT is all set to unfold in Milwaukee on January 14th, January 15th in Green Bay and January 16th in Chicago. NXT will be running two shows on some nights due to live events scheduled for January 14th in Winter Haven, Florida and January 15th in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
The franchise will also be using two crews in late January due to shows in shows in Pittsburg, Detroit, Florida, Largo and Venice set to go on the floors on the 29th and 30th.
The franchise almost certainly use a crew with less star power for the Florida shows as the crowds there consist of die-hard fans who are more welcoming of newer talents that are finding their feet.
It’s also wise to make use of WWE’s veterans on the road in the newer markets with hardcore fans that are more likely to poorly receive the fresh faces. All in all, 2016 looks to be a pretty big year for NXT fans.
The brand has found success in the UK too, with the attendance figures from the trip as follows:
- December 10th in Newcastle, England drew 3,300 fans
- December 11th in Glasgow, Scotland drew 4,500 fans
- December 12th in Sheffield, England drew 2,500 fans
- December 13th in Blackpool, England drew a sellout 2,000 fans
- December 14th in Nottingham, England drew 2,500 fans
- December 15th in Cardiff, Wales drew a sellout 3,200 fans
- December 16th in London for Takeover drew a sellout of above 7,000 fans, announced as 10,079
