On the road to Survivor Series: Big Show-Orton rivalry is still not convincing

Big Show has had quite a screen presence in the past few weeks. Ever since he revolted at Battleground, Show has been on a giant roll.

He was good when it came to being Stephanie’s beast of burden even though it all began with Show racking off some major tears only to mellow that down in weeks to come, thankfully.

He endured the harassment that came his way thanks to the Authority and finally he did the logical thing and sued them. The WWE has given this fictional angle a lot of priority and this eventually led to Show get his job back and better still, get a championship reign.

All this began after a program with Big Show and Mark Henry was cancelled due to henry’s injury. They were reported to form a tag team against the Authority’s team.

Even though his angle with randy Orton was pretty sudden and is reported to be the WWE’s return to focus on the ‘big guys’, Show has had quite a few entertaining moments leading up to Survivor Series.

One of the very great performances he gave is a promo backstage with Renee Young where his expressions spoke volumes about the situation he was in. It was a rollback to the 80s where over the top presentation was a norm. This was before battleground. He clearly showed signs of a rebellion but that momentum was cut short later in the night.

Another moment that stands out is his promo with Stephanie in the opening segment of RAW where he eventually got fired after receiving a thrashing by Stephanie, only to return after the main event to overpower the Shield and knock out Triple H.

Since then he came to look like a modern day Stone Cold with his anti-Authority antics like interfering in the main event which resulted into The Shield losing their titles. Not to forget the gigantic truck he brought into the arena one night.

Since then he has been working the crowd with Daniel Bryan’s popular ‘Yes’ chants. And now we are expecting a shift in the WWE title picture from Daniel Bryan to the Big Show. This sudden change has not done much to prove this rivalry as something to watch out for. Sure, as listed above, Big Show has had his moments but the feud between him and ‘the face of the WWE’ has not been convincing.

Even though Big Show did a spectacular chokeslam on Orton through the Announcers table, this rivalry needs an extra punch.

As reported before, Randy Orton is written into the title picture till January and Vince Mcmahon is set to return in January. It seems lie McMahon will return as a face and that can only indicate the Authority being dominant till January. Big Show, hence, has less chances of winning the title. Maybe, this is all a build up to a Show and Triple H showdown down the road.
