Did John Cena tease The Undertaker WrestleMania match on RAW?
Will John Cena face The Undertaker at WrestleMania? Some say yes, some say no and some are saying maybe. Dave Meltzer said as recently as earlier this week that John Cena vs The Undertaker is indeed still the plan.
We should know more about this possible match in the next week or two, but it seems like this past Monday's RAW may have given us a possible hint that the match may just happen. As seen in the image below, following his win over Goldust on RAW, as Cena was celebrating, for a split second we saw Cena give a familiar pose with his hand. He then held up his hand, seemingly imitating The Undertaker's famous hand gesture while motioning to the WrestleMania sign.
This could be considered a bit of a stretch, a coincidence, some of that famous John Cena Instagram trolling or, a giant hint. Whichever it is, we may get our answer possibly this Sunday at WWE Fastlane, or at least in the next few weeks on RAW.
It is also worth noting that Cena is only advertised for RAW events between now and just after WrestleMania, and apart from one Smackdown appearance in 2016, The Undertaker has been mostly sticking to appearances on RAW for the past few years.
Personally, I hope this match doesn't happen, as much as I love The Phenom. Taker seemed to go out on his own terms last year as he took in yet another defeat at WrestleMania, he went out in the main event, he put over the future face of the company in Roman Reigns and he broke character by kissing his wife, he left his belongings in the ring and he had wanted Jim Ross to call his final match, which J.R did.
This also wouldn't be the first time that John Cena and The Undertaker were to meet one-on-one on television, it would be the fifth time. The two have collided twice in 2003, one of which was on pay-per-view (Vengeance), once in 2004 and then again in 2006, and each time the matches were mixed, so we won't be guaranteed a match of the year contender, especially since, although John Cena may be wrestling some of the best matches of his career today, The Undertaker hasn't had a really good match in several years now. His match with Roman Reigns last year was only okay and that, was mostly because of Roman, Taker just wasn't fit.
Regardless, we may, just may, have gotten our answer with this big tease from John Cena on RAW.
