Opinion: How John Cena will stamp his ticket to WrestleMania

It won't
It won't be as straightforward as first thought, but it isn't impossible

So, on this week's RAW, John Cena took to the centre of the squared circle and, in a move the entire WWE Universe has been waiting for, the 16-time World Champion finally did it - he called out The Undertaker!

Fantasy booking came to life as the one match everyone wants to see Undertaker return for, was seemingly made in front of our very eyes - although not quite. In what was as close to a John Cena heel turn as we'll likely ever see, Mr Hustle Loyalty Respect made sure the entire WWE Universe felt the same disappointment he felt last night, when his road to WrestleMania hit a roadblock.

Instead, John Cena confirmed that he will be heading to SmackDown Live as a free agent and, well, I guess Cena may find himself in the Fastlane to Mania in the not too distant future.

John Cena turns up at SmackDown Live tomorrow looking to forge a path to Mania, and I have a theory as to how it will all go down.

Tomorrow on SmackDown Live, I believe John Cena will be thrown a lifeline in one of two ways. He will either be offered the chance to be added to the Fatal 5-Way Match at Fastlane that sees AJ Styles defend his WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. Sure, there's room for John Cena in there.

Or more likely, another option will be to face Nakamura for his shot at the WWE Championship. Now, don't worry, WWE Universe, I don't think WWE will switch Cena in for either Nakamura or Styles - even if he could have a classic match with both. In fact, I don't even think he gets added to the match. I think WWE is set on Nakamura vs Styles to counterbalance Reigns vs Lesnar.

While Cena said he was told a match with Taker is "impossible", I firmly believe it wouldn't be mentioned, in a Mark Henry's retirement-esque type angle to only be snatched away seconds later.

My proposal? At Fastlane, either in a newly made 6-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship or in a singles match against Shinsuke Nakamura, lights out, gong hits.

And The Undertaker costs John Cena the match, accepting the 16-time World Champ's challenge and setting up the dream match we all want to see.

Book it, WWE.
