Opinion: Is Becky Lynch Receiving the Seth Rollins treatment
Becky Lynch has been reinvented to a whole different level since her change in character and quite frankly, it turned out to be one of the best ever things to happen in recent memory.
Not only did she receive a massive upheaval in terms of being a fan favourite, but the entire women's division seems to have undergone a chain reaction of sorts since that happened.
While Charlotte Flair has returned to her role of being a major heel, a character that she is best suited to, Ronda Rousey's heel turn seemed to come out of nowhere. However, if we take a look at the current storyline that WWE is selling right now, we would see striking similarities with the one that the WWE has used for Seth Rollins.
The fact that Becky and Seth are both extremely well-liked among the WWE Universe also seems to be the reason that the WWE seems to be moving ahead in this direction.
'The Man'
One of the most interesting aspects to both of these superstars was the fact that they were cheered over their fellow babyface opponents.
Rollins turned on his 'brothers', the Shield and Becky turned on her 'best friend' Charlotte Flair. However, they were both cheered and that led WWE to turn them into babyface characters once again, although their characters were changed from what they were earlier.
While we mostly refer to Rollins as The Architect, he did refer to himself once as the 'Man'. While Rollins did bring an intensity to the way he referred to himself as the one who is at the top of his game, Becky has in fact, been able to deliver it slightly better.
Becky, The 'Queenslayer'
Although both Superstars suffered knee injuries, with Becky's being a storyline addition, the fact remains that they both competed in matches in that condition. Rollins' storyline was a massive success when he defeated Triple H to earn the title of the 'Kingslayer'.
Becky, however, had a different thing coming to her. Her injury was sold as something that affected her to a large extent and that led to WWE changing things to still keep her in the WrestleMania match.
Although Rollins legitimately defeated Triple H and Becky Lynch's victory was a result of Rousey purposely interfering, the fact remains that not many expected things to turn up the way they did.
Going up against the most Dominant forces in the Divisions
While Seth Rollins is all set to go up against Brock Lesnar for the Universal championship, Becky's primary target is Ronda Rousey.
While it is clear that the WWE wants to protect Becky's strong build and does not want her to be defeated clean.
Rousey's recent heel turn has in fact, made her a character like Brock Lesnar in the Women's division.
While she was already the dominant one, her character seemed to differ in that scenario. However, her heel turn can make her a character that is willing to go the distance to inflict punishment on her opponents and relish it.
