Opinion: Reason for Charlotte ending Asuka's streak
Charlotte shocked the world at WrestleMania when she ended the streak.
Well, it was in New Orleans after all, what better place for it to happen? And I think I've got the reason pinned down too.
Asuka put Charlotte over HUGE, tapping to the Figure 8, before proclaiming Charlotte was ready for Asuka and, congratulating the SmackDown Women's Champion.
Well, with Ronda Rousey making her WWE debut tonight and already confirmed to perform at next year's WrestleMania, I think we may just be heading towards the match everyone has been waiting for since Rousey was announced as a WWE signing.
WrestleMania 35 - the MetLife Stadium. I think we get the first-ever Women's WrestleMania main event when Ronda Rousey and Charlotte go one on one.
Charlotte may have ended Asuka's streak, but I think she may have just started her own - and I'll make a bold prediction that neither Ronda Rousey nor Charlotte, will be pinned over the course of the next year, where both women go on to close out WrestleMania in New Jersey.
Ronda Rousey was one of the few names confirmed for WrestleMania 35 when she made an appearance at the official press conference to confirm the venue of the event - so you can bet she'll play a huge role in it.
With the number of mainstream eyes, Rousey brings to WWE, having her main event may just be a no-brainer.
What's left for the women to do as a first, but to have the first ever women's main event at WrestleMania?
Who better to face Rousey than Charlotte? You could even have all of the other "Horsewomen" on both sides, accompanying their respective leaders. With Rousey's ring gear - the Rowdy Roddy Piper vs Ric Flair elements of this could be incredible too.
Either way, with the pop Ronda Rousey, got during her match tonight, debuting at WrestleMania, alongside Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, you can bet she'll be a HUGE star in WWE.
Rowdy even looked pretty technically sound in the ring - and like an absolute powerhouse.
Add one year of experience to that, Rousey vs Flair could surpass all expectations - and I think it's the right way to go.
Book it, WWE.
