Opinion: Why is WWE making Asuka look more beatable?
Sometimes WWE just knows how to get it right!
One of those rare times was during the match between Asuka and Nia Jax on Monday Night Raw and while some fans are probably upset with how beatable WWE made Asuka look throughout the contest, that might be the best idea WWE has come up with since bringing her to the main roster last year.
With that being said and the lackluster booking, WWE has had for The Empress of Tomorrow, WWE is making a very smart decision by having Asuka look more and more beatable on the main roster. In fact, the decision has already been shown to have some very positive effects on The Woman's roster.
Not only did WWE manage to make Nia Jax look like a badass throughout her match with the former NXT Champion, they also somehow figured out how to get the audience to give her a standing ovation after Jax lost. If nothing else, this proves that even a loss against Auska can be a benefit for a superstar if done right.
It also gives Asuka a chance to add a little extra babyface fair to her personality that will have fans cheering her name even after someone finally ends her streak! Think about, one of the main problems with Auska on the main roster was her lack of depth, which made it harder for fans to get behind her, but doing this \ solves that problem in a way that only Asuka can.
Of course, some might worry about this eventually opening the door to a loss for Asuka after being undefeated for so long, but it might not hurt her as much as fans think it will. It could even turn out to be one of the biggest moments of her career if WWE can pull off a match like they did between Asuka and Jax on Raw
And what a match it was! From the moment Nia Jax threw Asuka across the ring during a pin attempt to the moment that Asuka fought out of The Triangle choke several times before tapping out to the arm bar, WWE forced The fans to suspend their disbelief and fully immerse themselves into the contest.
Again, its not a perfect scenario and will eventually lead to Asuka taking that dreaded loss after all this time, but if WWE could do that at a place like the main event of WrestleMania and against an opponent like Ronda Rousey, then it will have been all worth it in the end! In fact, it could even make her look great in the process!
In the end, steaks are meant to be broken and if WWE can pull off the kind of storylines they have been doing with Asuka lately, it will be great for everyone involved. Not only that, it may end up being one of the greatest feuds of the decade if WWE can somehow overcome the backlash from her streak one day being broken.
