Opinion: The possible reason why Jeff Hardy won the United States Championship on Raw
This week's episode of Raw played host to the first wave of the Superstar Shakeup. Multiple Superstars from SmackDown Live made the switch to the red brand.
One among those Superstars was the "Modern-day Maharaja", Jinder Mahal. He started off this week's Monday Night Raw as the first Superstar to get drafted to RAW.
He continued with his typical rant saying that he is better than any Raw Superstar. Not long after that, Kurt Angle had heard enough and made Mahal defend the US Championship in the opening match of the night.
Jeff Hardy came out to challenge Mahal for the title and went on to defeat the Maharaja to win his first US title. In the process, the younger Hardy brother became WWE's 12th grand slam champion.
The Superstar Shakeup is set to continue tomorrow at SmackDown Live. We'll find out which Raw superstars will move to the blue brand alongside the Miz.
When Jinder Mahal brought the US title to Raw, speculations of Seth Rollins taking the Intercontinental Championship to SmackDown Live started to rise.
But the architect might not be moving to Tuesday nights as we can see Jeff Hardy get drafted to SmackDown Live and take the US title back to the blue brand.
The commentators during the main event gave us a hint that Seth Rollins might be staying at Raw. Michael Cole cited that Rollins' "Monday Night Rollins" merch could be an indication that he may remain on Raw.
That is a truly substantial point as Rollins is one of the top merchandise sellers for the WWE. If Rollins is to stay on Raw then Jeff Hardy might be on his way to SmackDown Live.
Jeff Hardy making the move to SmackDown Live is by all accounts the best choice for the WWE. While his brother Matt is now paired up with Bray Wyatt, there is nothing much left for Jeff to do on Raw.
He can take his high flying abilities to the blue brand and possibly get a main event push as we all know Vince McMahon is always high on Jeff Hardy.
Taking a gander at the potential matches he can have with Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, SmackDown Live is the ideal place for the extreme enigma.
