Opinion: Why Braun Strowman shouldn't have a match at WrestleMania

Bro
Braun Strowman undoubtedly should be a future Universal Champion

Okay, so this one might cause some controversy, but stick with me here.

It was always going to be the plan to have Roman Reigns be the man to slay the Beast at WWE WrestleMania 34 - ever since Reigns defeated The Undertaker last year, joining Lesnar in that incredibly elite club.

Braun Strowman has had a monumental year, that's undeniable. The Monster Among Men has destroyed everything in sight, as well as eliminating every single other participant in the Elimination Chamber Match aside from the eventual winner in Roman Reigns.

So the big question looms, what will The Monster Among Men be doing at WrestleMania? Options and opponents are running out. Many thought Strowman stood a chance of being the man to face Lesnar or even partnering Ronda Rousey against Stephanie and Triple H - but both of those options are now pretty much out of the question, barring anything unfortunate happening to Roman Reigns or Kurt Angle within the next month.

There's been talk of Braun Strowman either facing Kane in what would inevitably be Kane's final WrestleMania and potentially even his final match after he signalled that his wrestling days are coming to an end.

The other option that seems to be on the table is being part of a five-way Intercontinental Championship match against Miz, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and Elias - but that looks like it may be more likely set as a triple threat without Braun or Elias.

While it'd be a cool feather in the cap of Strowman to retire Kane, and while a title match is always good - and Strowman wouldn't need to be pinned to lose; We'd much rather not see Strowman actually have a match at WrestleMania than any of these two options.

Instead, here's a far more interesting scenario for The Monster Among Men:

It might sound crazy to not have Strowman in a match at WrestleMania, and my opinion of what Strowman should do could still work if he has a match early on the card -- but preferably no match would allow for maximum impact.

It's probably the worst kept secret in wrestling that Brock Lesnar may be nearing his final days in WWE, and there's a great deal of substantiated rumour that Roman Reigns will win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.

Well, while Roman's promo last week stood him in good stead to enter the match as the face and maybe, shockingly, even get cheered if when he wins the title, there's no doubt one man could steal the show with an even bigger pop.

Picture the scene. Roman Reigns wins the match, he pins Lesnar - -one, two, three. Reigns is celebrating with the Universal Championship to close the show when all of a sudden...

"BRAUUUUN!" Strowman's theme hits and The Monster Among Men enters with a microphone. He yells, "I already told you, I'm not finished with you yet!"

Braun makes his way to the ring, makes a beeling for Roman, destroys Brock, maybe even the officials, then absolutely decimates Reigns, setting up his next shot at the WWE Universal Championship, and closing out WrestleMania 34 by holding the Universal Title aloft on the grandest stage of them all.
