Opinion: WWE Superstars Finn Balor and Elias should form a tag team
The tag team division of Monday Night RAW has been a mess ever since Braun Strowman and Nicholas won the RAW tag team championships at WWE WrestleMania 34. It marked the end of Cesaro and Sheamus' reign, and also signaled the end of a competitive tag team division.
After Braun and Nicholas relinquished the belts, it has been held by Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt (the team which wasn't even a month old before they had their hands on the gold), The B Team, and Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre.
Out of those three reigns, only Dolph and Drew had a good title run, but the tag titles were sidelined when they became a part of the "Shield vs Dogs of War" feud. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins won the tag titles next, but the duo parted ways that same night as The Lunatic turned on The Kingslayer.
AOP have now won the tag titles in a handicap match on RAW, and will find themselves short of credible challengers on the flagship show.
The solution to this issue of the tag team division could be the formation of a new team comprising two underutilised talents - Elias and Finn Balor.
Finn Balor has been doing nothing ever since WrestleMania 34, while Elias has not been in a major feud for a long time. The Drifter recently turned face on RAW, now the two faces could collaborate to elevate the tag division.
They could even form an alliance as soon as tonight on the next RAW episode, and could represent the red brand in the 10-on-10 tag team elimination match. The WWE Creative can pull off this move by making the duo form a team to make it on the Survivor Series match card.
A strong showing at the inter-brand warfare could lead to Balor and Elias forming a stable, and they could also have Bayley (who has been the mixed-match partner of both) as their third member.
This stable could also help Bayley rebuild herself on RAW. Balor and Elias have the potential to have an epic rivalry with AOP for the RAW tag team titles. Perhaps after a few months of uniting, the duo could win the tag championships as well and have fantastic matches on RAW every week.
This would not only make RAW watchable, but would also will give Finn Balor and Elias a position at the top of the card, and an opportunity to do something meaningful on WWE TV.
