Opponent change for Bray, Dreamer returns to SmackDown
- On this week’s Monday Night RAW episode, it was announced that Bray Wyatt will be taking on Bubba Ray Dudley on this week’s SmackDown. However, as it was revealed on the show at last night’s tapings, it was Devon who went one on one against the ‘Eater of the worlds’.
While the reason for the opponent change is unclear, one has to imagine that Bubba Ray was unable to compete for some reason and Devon had to step in. Given that it was Bubba who shoved Bray on to a table on RAW, it makes sense that WWE may be building an angle towards an eventual showdown between the both of them.
In the meanwhile, Tommy Dreamer appeared alongside Bubba in Devon’s corner on the blue brand, marking his return to the show for the first time since his loss to Mark Henry, back in 2008.
Dreamer received a great response, like he did on RAW, as the ECW Original got involved in the proceedings following the match, that Devon lost in a clean manner. However, not everything worked out well as both Dreamer and the Dudleys were laid out by the big boys in the Wyatt family.
