Oscar feminism controversy spreading in WWE?
After a recent “#GiveDivasaChance” gimmick on Twitter, it was noted that the Chief Brand Officer of WWE Stephanie McMahon tweeted actress Patriica Arquette about her rousing “#WomensRights” speech at the Oscars. Arquette who won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in ‘Boyhood’, gave a stirring speech at Oscars, putting forward the issue of low wages for older women in America.
The Oscar feminism controversy clearly had a deep impact on WWE Diva AJ Lee who is now promoting the same in the WWE. She tweeted to Stephanie Mcmahon that female wrestlers contribute to high sale of WWE merchandise yet they receive only a fraction of wages in comparison to the male stars. Check out the conversation between two WWE Divas on twitter:
RT @StephMcMahon: Thank You @PattyArquette for having the courage to fight for #WomensRights on such a grand platform. #UseYourVoice
