Payback 2015- 5 Promising developments from the Pay-Per-View

The lastest PPV WWE had to offer wasn’t as unexpectedly great as Extreme Rules but it did deliver on some level. The main event, even though it wasn’t a classic, was quite entertaining. The biggest takeaway maybe the tag team division scene though,as they had arguably the best match of the night. There were things that dwindled in comparison to the hype that preceded them but there were also things that looked quite promising despite the relatively low hype that surrounded them.

Here are the 5 promising developments from the 2015 edition of Payback-

1.The Shield still lives

The Shield re-union was brief

Here’s one thing that WWE can rest assured about. It’s the fact that whenever and wherever WWE decides to do a Shield reunion, it’ll be a mammoth success. The three reunited for just a brief passing moment to triple powerbomb Randy Orton through the announcers table. Despite Kane’s dragged along sequence in the storyline, the biggest moment of this match was the chemistry between these three ‘brothers’. Seth Rollins won with a pedigree. Right now, consciously or unconsciously, the curb-stomp has become a myth but if and ever Rollins gets to execute it again, he’ll get a great reaction for it.

2..The New Heels

The New Day in action

New Day hasn’t exactly been a recipe of success. At first sight, you wouldn’t have given them that much of a chance. But ever since the stable has turned heel, it’s found some unprecedented momentum. Their characters are beginning to stand out. Woods being on the mic during their matches is a nice little added touch. It was especially well done when he uttered,”We are well aware” after the crowd started chanting ‘This is Awesome’ at the well worked match in front of them.

Their heel traits have been a revelation and this may finally be the newest breakthrough in a revitalizing tag team division scene.
