From The WWE Rumor Mill: Possible reason for The Big Show missed out on WrestleMania 34 and The Greatest Royal Rumble
What’s the story?
During a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran Pro Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer claimed that former WWE World Champion The Big Show has apparently suffered yet another injury, which is the possible reason on why ‘The World’s Largest Athlete’ missed out on this year’s WrestleMania 34 event.
In case you didn’t know…
Big Show’s last televised WWE match took place way back in September of 2017 when the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was defeated by Braun Strowman in a steel cage match, being thrown through the cage post-match.
Following the incident, Show also received some medical attention from the WWE doctors and had to be carried backstage, however, later on, it was reported that the attack was used to write Big Show off TV as he required hip surgery.
The heart of the matter
Meltzer recently opened up about The Big Show’s current physical condition.
He claimed that about three weeks ago, The Big Show seemingly suffered yet another injury which forced him to pull-out from this year’s WrestleMania 34 event in New Orleans and WWE’s first ever Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.
Following a successful hip surgery previously, Big Show had evidently promised all his fans that he would indeed make it to this year’s WrestleMania, however, due to an untimely and unfortunate injury the 46-year-old couldn’t make it to either event. (H/T: Ringside News)
“Big Show was injured about three weeks ago again he was coming back from his injury and he got reinjured. So that’s why he wasn’t in the match. I don’t know how severe but it was severe enough. They wanted him in this match you could tell because look at all those big guys they brought in and except for [the Great Khali] you know [Big Show] is the biggest guy. But Big Show got hurt. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious.”- Meltzer noted.
What’s next?
Big Show’s re-injury definitely comes in as a surprising and devastating news and we wish him nothing but a speedy recovery.
Author’s Take
I hope that Big Show’s injury isn’t anything serious and we do get to see him make his WWE return at some point down the road within 2018 itself.
