From The WWE Rumor Mill: Major push lined-up for The Riott Squad
What’s the story?
In the latest installment of The Wrestling Observer Radio, respected Professional Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported that the trio of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan aka The Riott Squad, could very well be the latest set of superstars who are currently on the verge of receiving a push from the WWE creative.
In case you didn’t know…
The Riott Squad made their main roster debut back in November of 2017 when Riott along with Morgan and Logan attacked Becky Lynch and Naomi on their first night on Smackdown Live.
Later that night, The Riott Squad also interfered in a match between then Smackdown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Natalya and thus marked their arrival in a dominant fashion.
The heart of the matter
Following this week’s WWE Superstar Shake-up, it has now been noted by Meltzer that the exciting trio could be on the verge of receiving a solid push, since jumping ship to the red brand of Monday Night Raw from Smackdown Live as part of the Superstar Shake-up.
As noted, the current WWE Raw Women’s Division seems to be running short of heel female superstars and former Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss is pretty much the only remaining top heel on the red brand.
However, as per speculated by Meltzer, The Riott Squad could now very well be in contention to play a much bigger role on Raw.
Additionally, Meltzer also regarded that the trio of Riott, Morgan, and Logan are in a very strong position at this point on the red brand, after making a very strong statement on their first night on Raw as a dominant heel faction.
What’s next?
As noted, on their first night on Raw, The Riott Squad made a huge statement by attacking two of Raw’s top female superstars in Bayley and Sasha Banks and only time will tell us if big things are indeed in store for the trio.
Author’s Take
The Riott Squad is definitely a very interesting and talented faction and I believe that the trio could end up doing pretty well for themselves if they are booked in a proper manner.
