Predicting 4 WWE Money in the Bank matches that could be added on SmackDown (June 28, 2024)
WWE Money in the Bank 2024 is less than two weeks away and fans are excited. The big event, which many believe is one of the most important premium live events each year, is set to be held live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Before the PLE, however, World Wrestling Entertainment and Triple H must finalize the card. There are currently five bouts announced, with stars such as Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, IYO SKY, and Jey Uso, among others, slated to appear.
Triple H-led premium live events tend to have only four to six matches on a card as the new regime focuses on quality over quantity. While it is certainly possible the show will ultimately only include the five matches already confirmed, there may be an additional bout added to the lineup.
This article will take a look at a handful of matches that could not only be added to the show but may be announced during SmackDown on Friday. This includes bouts with stars from the blue brand but also matches that could feature RAW talent.
Below are four WWE Money in the Bank matches that could be added during SmackDown.
#4. Sheamus could battle Ludwig Kaiser in Canada
One of the most clear and obvious additions the card could have is Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser. The two have had issues for weeks now and even had an extremely memorable match on WWE RAW several weeks ago. Things are intense between them, however, and they frequently fight all around the arena.
Sheamus and Kaiser would be an incredible bout if it gets booked. Of course, this match is dependent on the health of Ludwig Kaiser. He seemingly hurt his shoulder on WWE RAW, but it isn't clear how severe the potential injury is.
Obviously, both Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser are members of the Monday Night RAW brand. As a result, this match would probably be announced during a Money in the Bank rundown or Nick Aldis could reveal Adam Pearce gave him the news.
#3. LA Knight and Logan Paul could clash for the United States Title
Logan Paul is surprisingly still the WWE United States Champion. Fans may despise him, but there is no denying that Paul has been a success since getting involved with pro wrestling. He even defeated Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio to capture the belt.
LA Knight is the man looking to win the prestigious WWE title from The Maverick. He has routinely attempted to get Paul to defend his title, but Logan has seemingly avoided Knight every time. That excludes last week when he snuck in and jumped The Megastar from behind.
The Maverick hasn't defended his title in a while and Nick Aldis needs to step up and force him into a match. Given that Knight wants the bout so badly, it would make sense for The Social Media Megastar and The Megastar to go toe-to-toe at Money in the Bank.
#2. Otis could go one-on-one with Chad Gable
Chad Gable is an incredible pro wrestler, but he has turned out to be an absolute jerk since turning heel. Master Gable has been tormenting Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa for weeks now. This led to Otis standing up to Gable.
A match between Otis and Chad Gable feels inevitable sooner or later. Instead of allowing the feud more time to develop or potentially get stale, Adam Pearce could decide now is the perfect time for the duo to fight. WWE Money in the Bank could be the ideal destination.
Just as with the potential Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser bout, this match likely wouldn't be added as a result of a major segment. Instead, a video package of some kind could air or it could be revealed when the commentators go over the Money in the Bank card.
#1. A-Town Down Under could defend the WWE Tag Team Titles at Money in the Bank
A-Town Down Under is a tag team made up of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. The two WWE Superstars have massive egos, yet have mostly been able to put aside their differences to create a cohesive unit.
The despised duo won, what was then known as the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. Following their victory, the belts were renamed the WWE Tag Team Titles. A-Town Down Under has successfully held the gold since then.
Their time as champions may be drawing to a close, however. DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) has been building momentum and wants to win the gold. This could lead to the two teams clashing at Money in the Bank in Toronto if Triple H doesn't prefer to hold off on the match until SummerSlam.
