Predicting the 8-match card of WWE Fastlane
The grandest stage of them all is almost upon us, but there's a final hurdle for the WWE Superstars to cross before they get a chance at glory: WWE Fastlane.
The final PPV before WrestleMania 35 rolls around has the potential to become a game changer for multiple storylines heading into the show of shows. After tonight's SmackDown, we are heading towards Fastlane with 8 matches on the card.
As usually is the case, Brock Lesnar is nowhere to be seen on the card, thanks to his perk-filled contract that allows him to only show up on special PPVs and a handful of Raws. But that doesn't take away from the intrigue that's been built around the PPV.
Let's take a look at all the 8 matches and predictions.
#1 Rey Mysterio vs Andrade Cien Almas, pre-show
The masked veteran has faced off against the young high-flyer in Andrade on multiple occasions on SmackDown. The WrestleMania rumor mill was running around with the prediction of Rey and Andrade facing off against each other at Mania in a retirement match.
That doesn't seem to be the case now that we will get this match at Fastlane. I'll take Andrade to win as Rey doesn't need a pin against a fresh and promising superstar at this point in his career. This could also lead to a big retirement match at the show of shows, where Rey finally gets his well-deserved sendoff.
Winner: Andrade
#2 Raw Tag Team championship triple threat match: The Revival vs Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs Richochet and Aleister Black
Soon after their request for release from WWE, The Revival was 'gifted' the WWE tag team titles by the company.
They have since been feuding with a makeshift team of Black and Richochet on Raw, with Roode and Gable being added to the mix.
The fresh newcomers from NXT have been wowing the fans on a weekly basis, and there's an actual chance of them winning the titles at Fastlane. But it would be a lot better if the duo win the titles at WrestleMania to begin a dominant championship run on Raw. The Revival wins this one so that they can drop the titles to Richochet and Black at WrestleMania.
Winners: The Revival
