Predicting the four remaining participants in the #1 Contendership Tournament for the Cruiserweight Championship
Last week on 205 Live, Drake Maverick announced that there would be an eight-man tournament to determine who will become the number one contender to the Cruiserweight Championship and will face Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 35. Two first round matches have already been announced for this week's edition of 205 Live on Tuesday Night.
One of those matches will see the Premier Athlete Tony Nese who is fresh off a victory against Noam Dar face off with the Dominion of Dynamo Kalisto who also got a big victory over Mike Kanellis. Another one of those matches will see is between two old rivals and former teammates in Drew Gulak and the Brian Kendrick. There are four remaining participants left in this tournament meaning that there are two remaining first-round matches left in the tournament.
#4: Humberto Carillo
Humberto Carillo has made quite the waves since arriving to 205 Live. He made his debut by challenging Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy in an open challenge in a non-title match on an episode of 205 Live. The two had a pretty good match that ended with Buddy Murphy getting the victory. However, 205 Live's Best Kept Secret had to resort to questionable tactics as he feigned an injury to gain the victory.
Since then Humberto Carillo has been gaining a lot of momentum on 205 Live. He has defeated both TJP and Gran Metalik and also seems to be getting involved in an angle with Drew Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher.
He also lasted to the quarterfinals of the inaugural Worlds Collide Tournament. He defeated one half of the NXT UK Tag Team Champions in Zack Gibson in the first round before being defeated by the winner of the tournament in the Velveteen Dream.
The victories that Humberto Carillo has picked up over established superstars in 205 Live (the two finalists of the Cruiserweight Classic in Gran Metalik and TJP) make him an obvious (and welcome) addition to this tournament.
