Randy Orton leaves WWE; Cody Rhodes loses his title? - 5 things that could happen on WWE SmackDown after Kevin Owens' heel turn

Cody Rhodes successfully co-existed with Roman Reigns against The Bloodline, and Kevin Owens turned heel after Bad Blood. Randy Orton and others could react to the situation on WWE SmackDown.

At Bad Blood, fans witnessed several surprises in the main event. Jimmy Uso returned, The Rock appeared after the match, and Kevin Owens finally turned his back on Cody Rhodes. All the fallout from the premium live event will be featured on this week's WWE SmackDown.

Without further ado, let's check out a few possibilities of what could happen after the off-camera heel turn of The Prizefighter.

#5. Roman Reigns reacts to The Rock's return

The Rock surprised everyone with his return at WWE Bad Blood. To ensure a massive cliffhanger, he stared down Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. The Original Tribal Chief is set to appear on the blue brand to address the situation.

The OTC could address The Final Boss on WWE SmackDown by suspecting he is the one giving orders to Solo Sikoa. This would be the official beginning of their much-awaited feud. Solo and The Bloodline could interfere, potentially setting up a match between the two sides for Crown Jewel 2024, bringing more thrill to The Bloodline Saga.

#4. Randy Orton could try to urge Kevin Owens to fix things on WWE SmackDown

After Kevin Owen's assault on Cody Rhodes, their longtime ally Randy Orton's reaction will be intriguing to witness. Considering he may want peace, he could attempt to urge the former Universal Champion to make amends with the Undisputed WWE Champion.

The Viper could remind Kevin Owens how Rhodes had always had his back, but the newly turned heel will likely go berserk to unleash an assault on the multi-time world champion on WWE SmackDown.

The American Nightmare could fall victim to an assault too if he attempts to interfere. An intertwined feud could start after the heated confrontation between the former allies.

#3. Kevin Owens might attack Roman Reigns

The Prizefighter seemingly turned heel due to his frustrations at Cody Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns after having countless feuds with The Tribal Chief and his group over the years. He has been in the crosshair of The Bloodline for years, so it will be natural for him to hate The Head of The Table.

While he already unleashed his frustration on The American Nightmare, he hasn't touched The OTC yet. He could target Cody on WWE SmackDown and in case Reigns interferes to help, he could be on the receiving end of a brutal assault too. This will reignite the multi-year storyline and possibly even postpone The Rock's involvement on The Road to WrestleMania 41.

#2. Could Randy Orton quit WWE?

While fans might not expect it, Randy Orton could respond to Kevin Owens' heel turn by simply leaving the company in kayfabe due to frustration. This won't be the first time something like this would happen.

Jey Uso quit the company last year due to his frustrations with Jimmy Uso and The Bloodline. Instead of solving the matter, The Apex Predator could simply step away for a while. He has been active since his Survivor Series 2023 return so he could finally take a much-deserved hiatus from Titanland before returning on The Road to WrestleMania 41.

#1. Cody Rhodes might lose his title

Being grateful for the help he was offered against Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, The American Nightmare previously offered Owens a title shot at Bash in Berlin. While the match was great, the title didn't change hands as the former Universal Champion controlled himself from turning heel.

Now that he has finally turned to the dark side, he could demand another title shot, and considering Cody Rhodes will try to fix the situation with his friend at any cost, an impromptu Undisputed WWE Championship match could happen on SmackDown. As Rhodes may have to fend off The Bloodline during the match, he could realistically lose his title to Kevin Owens on the blue brand.

There are several possibilities, but all questions will be answered on October 11.
