Randy Orton to make WWE NXT in-ring debut? Details on brand run so far

Also, Randy Orton is set to appear on the October 8 episode of NXT in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. During the latest episode, it was confirmed that The Viper will be competing in a match that night. Fans have since reacted with excitement to the news, with many wondering if this will mark Orton's NXT in-ring debut. However, the answer is no.

Randy Orton has previously wrestled on NXT once, facing Damien Sandow during a taped show in February 2013. Aside from Orton's potential match against Je'Von Evans, other major appearances have also been announced for the October 8 show.

Randy Orton recently returned to WWE SmackDown

Randy Orton had been appearing on Monday Night RAW for several weeks before his match with Gunther at WWE Bash in Berlin. Now that their feud is done and dusted, The Viper has finally returned to Friday Night SmackDown.

He made his comeback during the season premiere of the show on the USA Network, emerging as the surprise tag team partner for Kevin Owens. The duo defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a tag team match, with The Viper securing the pinfall for his team.

The 14-time WWE Champion will be expected to become one of the focal points of Friday Night SmackDown moving forward.
