Randy Orton may make face-turn in Hell in a Cell

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter talks about the creative plans for Randy Orton and what may happen this Sunday at the WWE Hell in a Cell PPV.

There has been a discussion of Orton turning babyface once again. The general outline is that current roster is split into two groups for live events, with Randy Orton at the helm of one of them with John Cena leading the other. This has seen a recent change with Orton taking some time off. WWE has noted that ever since The Viper turned heel last year and aligned with the Authority, his merchandise sales and the live event tickets for his tours have fallen.

A Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins program push in the near future is a possibility and that could also be the reason for the speculated face-turn.  Orton’s RKO to Paul Heyman on Monday Night RAW this week could be a hint that he will win his Hell in a Cell match against John Cena this Sunday, and face Brock Lesnar later.

Orton has to be a babyface for both these situations. Brock Lesnaris unlikely to return until January for the Royal Rumble PPV so that gives the Viper enough time to have a short feud with Rollins and be ready for the Beast Incarnate. If Lesnar is back sooner then Orton vs. Lesnar could happen at Survivor Series, with Rollins doing the same thing he did to John Cena at NOC i.e. costing him the match, and attempting to cash-in Money in the Bank.

Hell in a Cell will give us a clearer picture of what might happen.
