Randy Orton to return to WWE with new character following Crown Jewel attack? Exploring the chances
Randy Orton was seemingly injured in the attack at the hands of Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel last night. It appears that this could be enough to write him off WWE TV for a few weeks.
Cody Rhodes made it clear ahead of Crown Jewel that he wanted what was left of Owens after the trip to The Middle East and he may get just that on SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens may be the match booked for Survivor Series in three weeks' time and it could mean that Randy Orton doesn't make his return until after or as part of the show to finally turn heel.
Orton has been teasing a heel turn for several weeks and may want to go after Rhodes' championship. So, if he takes some time away and then returns to interfere at Survivor Series, it would be the perfect way for him to unleash The Viper once again.
Will Randy Orton finally get a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship upon his return?
Randy Orton has already set his sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship and has been staring at the belt when in segments with Rhodes for several weeks.
If the plan at WrestleMania next year is to have The Rock vs. Roman Reigns, then there could be room for Rhodes vs. Orton. It would be an emotionally fueled story for Rhodes once again as his long-time friend turns his back on him in favor of becoming a 15-time World Champion.
Orton is over with the crowd at the moment and is enjoying being a babyface, but it's been a year since he returned and has nothing to show for it. He has always worked better as a heel and it could be time for him to return to his roots and take what he deserves.
