Many stars have performed in WWE, but only a select few have become legendary. Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many more stars helped carry the promotion to incredible heights during the Attitude Era.

Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, and Rhea Ripley are some of the notable names on today's current roster that have the chance to become some of the best the industry has ever seen. To be one of the greatest of all time, it is important to also connect with the crowd through promos and not just rely on skills in the ring.

Listed below are the top 25 greatest WWE Superstars in history.

#25. WWE SmackDown star AJ Styles

AJ Styles made a name for himself in TNA Wrestling and later in Japan, but his stardom was taken to a new level when he arrived in WWE at Royal Rumble 2016.

Styles has found a lot of success during his WWE run. The Phenomenal One is a two-time WWE Champion and Triple Crown Champion in both TNA Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment. He has established himself as one of the best in-ring performers in history.

CM Punk simply has to be on this list, given what he has meant to the industry in the past few years alone. The Chicago native returned to pro wrestling in 2021; since then, he has been surrounded by controversy. However, there is no denying that he is one of the biggest draws in the industry.

The controversial star captures everyone's attention with a microphone in his hand and is almost always a topic of conversation among wrestling fans.

#23. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has captured 14 championships on the WWE's main roster and is also a former two-time NXT Women's Champion. Her resume is undeniable, and she has the chance to add more to her illustrious career in the years ahead.

Flair is currently recovering from the injuries that she suffered during a match against Asuka last December on SmackDown.

Before signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Chris Jericho had a remarkable career as a WWE Superstar.

In 1999, he departed WCW to join WWE, and his debut on the August 9, 1999, edition of RAW has withstood the test of time. Y2J has had a Hall of Famer-worthy career and also holds the record for most Intercontinental Championship reigns.

Andre the Giant left behind a legacy that still lives on to this day. The former WWF World Heavyweight Champion was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993 and is honored every year by the promotion with the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson in AEW) had one of the most legendary runs in company history on the Road to WrestleMania 30. The "Yes Movement" propelled The American Dragon to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at The Show of Shows in 2014.

Danielson is currently part of AEW and recently won the AEW World Championship at All In.

Hall of Famer Mick Foley is one of the popular stars who put his body on the line every time he stepped foot in the ring. There was seemingly nothing he wouldn't do in a match to make it more entertaining for fans.

One of the most legendary bouts in Foley's career was his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998, which will likely be discussed by wrestling fans forever.

#18. Rey Mysterio

Latino World Order's Rey Mysterio took his rightful place in the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 39 weekend last year. The veteran is still performing for the company to this day, but his legacy is already set in stone as one of the greatest to ever do it.

Rey previously expressed his desire to end his career against his son Dominik Mysterio in a Hair vs. Mask match.

Eddie Guerrero is still referenced to this day despite his untimely death 19 years ago. He was only 38 years old when he passed away, but he's influenced many of the current generation of wrestling stars.

Guerrero won the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 2004 and made millions of fans throughout his career.

Brock Lesnar is an incredible athlete, and there is nobody else on the roster like him. His strength is unmatched, and the veteran is a 10-time World Champion. The 47-year-old also had a brief career in the NFL and is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion as well.

The Beast Incarnate last competed at SummerSlam 2023, where he faced defeat against Cody Rhodes.

Dusty Rhodes had a remarkable career as a professional wrestler and is also remembered for his work behind the scenes in NXT. Dusty worked with several superstars who are now mainstream attractions of the company, including Roman Reigns,

His memory lives on through his son, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold medalist, and also one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. In addition to his incredible skills inside the ring, Angle also excelled as a heel and was one of the best at getting the WWE Universe to despise him

He lost to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in the final match of his career.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage is one of the most iconic characters in the history of the wrestling business. His memorable promos are still referenced to this day, and the legend captured the WWF World Heavyweight Championship twice during his career.

Savage also had success in WCW and won the World Heavyweight Championship four times during his tenure with the company.

Roman Reigns had a historic run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, with his 1,316-day reign coming to an end at WrestleMania XL. He returned as a babyface at WWE SummerSlam 2024 and is well on his way to one of the greatest professional wrestling careers in history.

Ric Flair was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008 and is a 16-time World Champion. He has accumulated fans for generations and recently spent some time in All Elite Wrestling before leaving the company.

The Nature Boy wrestled his last match in 2022.

Randy Orton began his wrestling career in 2000 and remains one of the biggest stars in the company.

The Viper returned to WWE last November after a 18-month hiatus. Orton has recently stated that he wants to wrestle until he is 50 years old, leaving him plenty of time to add to his list of accomplishments as a WWE Superstar.

Triple H had a legendary career as a professional wrestler but could be remembered for his work as the company's Chief Content Officer down the line.

Hunter became the head of creative in 2020. The company has been very successful with The Game in charge so far.

#8. Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels was one of the most gifted performers in the ring and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice. He was inducted individually in 2012, and once again as a member of D-Generation X in 2019. The Heartbreak Kid currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative for the company.

Bret Hart was a one-of-a-kind in-ring performer, and he remains very popular among wrestling fans. The Hitman was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006 and recently appeared on the September 9 edition of RAW.

Hulk Hogan was a cultural icon and his popularity brought in a ton of money for the wrestling business.

The Hulkster also had a tremendous amount of success in WCW as part of the legendary nWo faction. Hogan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.

The Rock was many fans' favorite star growing up and remains incredibly popular today. His "Final Boss" persona during his latest run captivated wrestling fans, and most are eagerly awaiting his return.

The Brahma Bull is still one of the most electrifying performers in entertainment.

#4. John Cena

John Cena developed a strong connection with fans throughout his career and is without a doubt a future Hall of Famer. The Cenation Leader is a 16-time World Champion and will be hanging up his boots for good following his retirement tour in 2025.

Cena has been a part of WWE since 2002, and it will be interesting to see who will face the legend during his retirement tour.

Bruno Sammartino was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 and is regarded as one of the greatest of all time.

The Italian Superman had a historic reign as WWF World Champion that lasted an astounding 2,803 days.

The Undertaker's legendary in-ring career came to an end at WrestleMania 36. The Deadman defeated AJ Styles in a Boneyard match to cap off his Hall of Fame career.

The Phenom made a surprise appearance in the final moments of the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania XL, and also currently hosts the popular Six Feet Under podcast.

#1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin had a career for the ages, and his merchandise is still regularly a top seller. The Rattlesnake defeated Kevin Owens in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 38 and recently shared that he was hoping to make an appearance next year at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas.
