Ranking all 8 champions on the WWE main roster post-WrestleMania 35 weekend
The biggest weekend of the year in all of wrestling has come and gone, but what a weekend it was. Starting with possibly the greatest NXT Takeover event of all time, the fun only continued. The Hall of Fame, with a new look, was a ton of fun, but it was WrestleMania that wowed everybody. There were so many great moments on the show and it was largely enjoyable, despite its unbelievable length.
Seven new champions were crowned at the MetLife Center, as Hulk Hogan erroneously called it, with most of them being the absolutely right decision. All three big championship matches ended with the babyface standing tall with their titles, making WrestleMania 35 one of the most feel-good Manias in history. They were all spaced from each other as well, so none of them took anything away from the others.
We also saw a surprising title switch on the Smackdown after WrestleMania, meaning pretty much the entire landscape of WWE has been changed over the course of this weekend. This set of champions looks incredible, especially the top line. Maybe this could be the year that WWE snaps out of its post-WrestleMania lull. The next few months could be really great.
We may never get a stronger set of champions on the main roster. Here is every one of them ranked, from worst to best.
#8 Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder (RAW Tag Team Champions)
Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder defeated the Revival on the WrestleMania Kickoff Show, ending a 269-match losing streak for Hawkins. The booking of the feud may have been abrupt but the match was a solid one. The victory did feel like a fluke though. The former Edgeheads got another opportunistic victory on the Raw after Mania and are still the Raw Tag Team Champions after that whirlwind weekend.
Another one-day reign for Zack Ryder looked to be on the cards, but these two will have a proper tag title reign, lasting for a month at least. The state of the Raw tag team division is not ideal at all, but Hawkins and Ryder could have a fun mini-run before handing it over to one of the big boys after next week's Superstar Shakeup. These two are merely a notch above the B-Team and their run last year.
