RAW off the air 23rd September: CM Punk gets retribution
CM Punk got one of the loudest ovations ever in his home town in Chicago tonight, and WWE didn’t want the crowd to leave the arena without them having another look at him.
It must have been really sad for the fans to see their hometown hero get driven through a ladder and onto the concrete floor. But those memories are far gone now, as CM Punk managed to get some payback after RAW went off air.
CM Punk came out and did the YES chant with Bryan. He then patted him off. Punk then spoke a few words praising Chicago and being ready to deliver a Chicago style beat down. Without any surprises Heyman, Ryback and Axel surrounded Punk in the ring.
Jerry Lawler then lent a helping hand by sliding in a kendo stick to Punk, who then started cleaning house. Ryback and Axel got taken out with the kendo stick and Heyman was caught all alone in the ring. Punk then caught Heyman by his foot and beat him with the kendo stick on his back before Axel and Ryback managed to interfere again.
Ryback then sent Axel into Punk in the corner, but Punk managed to evade it. Axel fell outside the ring and Punk came back to the ring with a chair. Ryback immediately ran out of harm’s way, leaving Axel all alone. Punk hit Axel with a chair and sent him through the barricade. He then put him back into the ring and gave him a few more chair shots. The crowd was loud with ‘GTS’ chants as Punk toyed with Axel. He then hit Axel with a GTS and pinned Axel by counting the three count himself.
