Is this the real truth behind Daniel Bryan's retirement?
The news of Daniel Bryan’s retirement can now be considered lukewarm as the massive world of WWE keeps moving on, but a fresh rumour has managed to reignite interest in the subject once again according to allwrestlingnews.com.
It has now emerged that the rumour-mongers think that Bryan chose to call it quits with WWE simply to weasel out of his contract with the franchise and pursue interests on the independent circuit once again.
However, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer has thrown cold water on that rumour, saying: “If you think Bryan outsmarted Vince by retiring to end the freeze on his contract, well, I can tell you for sure you’re wrong on that one. Retirement had no effect on the terms of his deal.”
The official reason for Bryan’s retirement is solely down to medical reasons, with the wrestler confessing that he suffered 10 major concussion while with WWE, which not only caused him seizures but also a reduction in speed of his brains temporoparietal region.
Bryan announced his retirement on an episode of RAW this month and even gave an emotional speech to the crowd, while opening up about how much joy the sport bought him. The wrestler still has three years to run on his WWE contract, and will continue to be an integral part of Total Divas.
