WWE Rumours: Mick Foley brought back to Raw to promote new series
For many, Mick Foley was a very surprising choice for the General Manager Monday Night Raw, as he is a generally beloved babyface working under the heel character of Stephanie McMahon.
It was all the more surprising because it was well known that Shane McMahon would choose a babyface for Smackdown General Manager. Naturally, many were expecting Triple H to get the role of Raw General Manager.
It is being said that one of the reasons WWE brought back Mick Foley on a full-time basis is to promote the upcoming WWE Network series “Holey Foley”, which is set to premier after Summerslam, on August 21st.
Holey Foley will also star Mick Foley’s children, Dewie, Noelle, Mickey & Hughie, along with Noelle’s boyfriend Frank, better known as Frank The Clown.
There is still a looming doubt over Foley’s future as Raw General Manager. Some speculate that after Holey Foley is done, Stephanie could bring back Triple H and turn on Foley, thus bringing the Authority back to power.
For now, however, it seems that Foley will be the Raw General Manger for the foreseeable future.
