Rhea Ripley to get revenge; open challenge for major title? - 4 gimmick matches that need to happen at WWE Survivor Series
WWE Survivor Series 2024 is rapidly approaching and there are already several marquee matches announced for the event. Damian Priest will be challenging Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the premium live event on November 30. The Archer of Infamy lost the title to The Ring General at SummerSlam but earned a rematch by winning a Fatal Four-Way number-one contender's match on WWE RAW earlier this month.
Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline will be battling Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and a mystery star in a WarGames Match at Survivor Series. Bronson Reed joined Sikoa's team for the upcoming PLE, this past Friday night on SmackDown.
Listed below are four gimmick matches that need to happen at Survivor Series 2024:
#4. Rhea Ripley must challenge Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship in a Steel Cage Match
Rhea Ripley battled Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at WWE Bad Blood last month, and Dominik Mysterio was trapped inside a Shark Cage for the match. Raquel Rodriguez returned from her lengthy hiatus at the PLE, and attacked Ripley, causing the match to end in a disqualification.
The Eradicator is currently out of action with a fractured orbital bone but could return in time for WWE Survivor Series. Ripley could demand to battle Morgan for the title in a Steel Cage Match at the PLE, and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce would likely adhere to the request, as the 28-year-old has been screwed out of capturing the title several times now.
This would provide Ripley with a great opportunity to recapture the title she was forced to relinquish earlier this year.
#3. Bron Breakker needs to defend the Intercontinental Championship in an Iron Man Match at Survivor Series
Sheamus will be challenging Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship tomorrow night on WWE RAW. However, the match deserves a much bigger stage and the two stars could potentially have a rematch for the title at Survivor Series.
The Celtic Warrior has never captured the Intercontinental Championship in his illustrious career in WWE. Sheamus could suggest the two stars battle in an Iron Man Match at Survivor Series to prove who was the tougher competitor.
#2. LA Knight needs to hold an Open Challenge for the US Championship at Survivor Series
LA Knight has been impressive so far as the United States Champion. The Megastar captured the title from Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024 and successfully defended against Berto (Humberto Carrillo) this past Friday night on SmackDown. Knight issued an Open Challenge, and Santos Escobar accepted the offer. However, the United States Champion noted that he had already defeated Escobar, and battled Berto instead.
Knight could show up during Survivor Series and issue another Open Challenge. The promotion could use this opportunity to elevate a talent from NXT to the main roster or have Knight defend the title against a deserving star on the SmackDown roster.
#1. Tiffany Stratton could put her Money in the Bank contract on the line at WWE Survivor Series
Tiffany Stratton won the Women's Money in the Bank contract earlier this year and can cash in for a title opportunity at a time and place of her choosing. She is currently in an alliance with Nia Jax on SmackDown but could be growing jealous of The Irresistible Force's new friendship with Candice LeRae.
Nia Jax could attempt to test The Buff Barbie's loyalty by suggesting she put her MITB contract on the line at WWE Survivor Series against Candice LeRae. Jax could potentially betray Stratton during the match, leading to a rivalry between the two stars and a possible babyface turn for the 25-year-old popular star.
