Rhea Ripley to replace ex-lover with a champion? - 4 reasons why Jey Uso should win the WWE Intercontinental Championship

On the latest edition of WWE RAW, Jey Uso defeated Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Braun Strowman in an epic Fatal-Four Way match to become the number-one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. He will now challenge Bronm Breakker for his gold.

The match was rumored to take place at WWE Bad Blood next month. However, as per a recent report, the bout is moved from the premium live event and will happen on an upcoming edition of red brand. Despite the changes, the former Bloodline member has a strong chance to end Breakker's reign.

Here, we look at four reasons Jey Uso must dethrone Bron Breakker as the Intercontinental Champion. So, without further ado, let's begin.

#1. Jey Uso deserves a championship on WWE RAW

Jey Uso has undeniably been one of the most consistent performers on the red brand since arriving on Monday Night RAW. Jey has worked wonders to establish himself as a certified main event star, a top babyface in every right, despite taking multiple big losses.

Triple H would be right to put the Intercontinental Championship on Jey Uso and book him as a compelling fighting champion. Other titles on RAW are unlikely to change hands any time soon. The IC Title may allow more superstars to elevate themselves, starting with Jey becoming the new champion after Breakker dethroned Sami Zayn.

#2. Bron Breakker's credibility won't get hurt

Bron Breakker rose through the rank with his brutal rampage on WWE RAW until he won the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. He will meet a formidable opponent in Jey Uso, and it would be difficult for him to overcome a veteran challenger. However, Breakker won't lose his credibility even if he loses the gold.

It could give Triple H ample room to extend their title feud if the Intercontinental Championship changes hands. This would see Breakker engage in a good storyline as he chases the gold again while Jey fends off several other top heels as the new champion on WWE RAW.

#3. Contrast to Dominik Mysterio after replacing him as Rhea Ripley's love interest

Dominik Mysterio openly stated that Rhea Ripley mistreated him, discrediting Mami's role in his only singles title reign as the NXT North American Champion. However, The Eradicator's potential new romantic interest - Jey Uso - may be presented as a stark contrast to Dirty Dom.

Winning the Intercontinental Championship would add to the credibility of his alliance with The Terror Twins on WWE RAW. It will also help push him as one-half of the power couple while Rhea Ripley chases the Women's World Championship, which currently resides on Liv Morgan's shoulders. Besides, a champion in Ripley's corner would help make it more believable for the babyfaces to overcome The Judgment Day's number advantage.

#4. Huge title win before returning to Roman Reigns and The Bloodline

Jey Uso was arguably the most crucial member of the Roman Reigns-led Bloodline. His face turn, exit from the heel faction, and singles run have all been narrated around his success as a singles star. Jey's eventual return to the Bloodline saga and much-awaited reunion with Reigns and Jimmy Uso would be better if he had a championship reign in his name.

It would allow Reigns and Jimmy to finally see their brother achieve what he set out to do before he returns as the strongest weapon in the old Bloodline's war against the Solo Sikoa-run faction. After all, winning the Intercontinental Championship on WWE RAW would be an excellent way to culminate Jey Uso's memorable run on the red brand.
