Ric Flair comments on Roddy Piper passing away, The Rock remembers Piper
- With the WWE Universe mourning the death of Rowdy Roddy Piper and several former plus current superstars pouring in their tributes on social media, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has also remembered his longtime friend and fellow wrestler Hot Rod by sharing his thoughts.
The 16-time World champion issued the following statement to TMZ on the passing of his friend:
“We’ve shared the ring, traveled the world, maintained a friendship throughout the ups and downs of the wrestling world, and battled to see who was the better heel. It’s almost impossible to express my grief. My condolences to his children and to his wife Kitty. I’ll miss you Roddy. The world will never be as Rowdy without you.”
As reported earlier today, Roddy passed away on Thursday night in his sleep due to a cardiac arrest. He was 61 years old. Piper’s last title run in the WWE involved Flair as the two icons of the business teamed up to win the tag team belts back in 2006 against The Spirit Squad at the Cyber Sunday pay-per-view.
