Rikishi to make his WWE return and join The Bloodline saga? Pro wrestling veteran's comments explored
The Bloodline saga on SmackDown is heating up, and WWE legend Rikishi's sons have everything to do with it. Currently, Jimmy Uso is siding with Roman Reigns in The OTC's battle against the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline. At some point, Jey Uso is expected to join Jimmy and Roman to fight Sikoa and Co.
However, the big question currently is whether Rikishi will return to SmackDown and join this storyline. Recently, on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Live Q&A with WrestleVotes and Bill Apter, the legendary wrestling journalist shed light on why the veteran Samoan star should return.
He said:
"Rikishi has been in the news. He has got his podcast, as you know, and I think the WWE, with them bringing in legends and all that, makes total sense for him to put Jimmy and Jey back together again to settle the brotherly issue that's going on with the two of them. I think it would be a great angle to bring what we used to call him junior into the fold again right now and settle that feud."
After Bill Apter made this statement, Joe Lowry agreed with the veteran's assessment. Apter also added that if Rikishi returned, the latter didn't need to wrestle again.
What's happening between WWE legend Rikishi's sons, Jimmy and Jey Uso?
For the longest time, Jimmy and Jey Uso, popularly known as The Usos, were one of the most successful tag teams in WWE. However, it can be said that as soon as Jey came into the spotlight, things changed. At SummerSlam 2023, Jey battled Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
While Jey was close to winning his first world championship in the Stamford-based promotion, Jimmy famously betrayed his twin brother. This betrayal led to The YEET Master retaliating, moving to RAW, and eventually beating Jimmy in a singles match at WrestleMania 40.
Since this match, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso did not maintain any contact until this week on RAW. In the latest episode of the Monday Night Show, Jimmy was seen trying to get in touch with Jey. However, the reigning Intercontinental Champion asked Jimmy to go away.
Hence, given the animosity between the brothers, it would make sense for their father, Rikishi, to come back and settle the feud between his boys. It will be interesting to see if something along these lines takes place in the coming weeks.
