ROH News: Adam Cole gives his Ring Of Honor farewell speech

3x Ring of Honor World Champion Adam Cole is now a free agent...

What’s the story?

Adam Cole wrestled his final match on May 14th television tapings for Ring Of Honor.  After his match, he would deliver the following goodbye address, which you can watch below:

In case you didn’t know...

Cole started professional wrestling in 2008. He would spend all but one year of his professional wrestling career in Ring Of Honor. When he won the Ring of Honor World Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 11 this past January, he became the first ever three-time world champion with the company.

The heart of the matter

As you can see in the video above, Cole said he gave everything he could in the nine years he was in Ring Of Honor. He then added that he will always consider ROH his home and ended the goodbye with his signature pose as the crowd loudly chanted ‘ADAM COLE BAYBAY!’

Over the past couple years, we have seen long-time Ring of Honor competitors such as Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly give great speeches and Cole’s was no different.

What’s next?

Nothing is official yet, but many speculate that Adam Cole is NXT-bound. He’s officially been a free agent since May 1st and worked the War of the Worlds tour for ROH on a per-event basis.

Author’s take

I thought it was a great and heartfelt speech by Adam Cole. He’s been a major part of the company for a long time, and at age 27, Cole is just getting started.

NXT seems like the next logical step for Cole. A performer with his talent could bypass NXT for the main roster, but at least a year in NXT would be good for Cole. There are many dream feuds he could have in NXT with the likes of Drew McIntyre, Bobby Roode, and Hideo Itami.
