ROH Rumors: Cody Rhodes finally decides to sign a full-time contract with ROH
What’s the story?
As reported by PWTorch, Cody Rhodes has signed a full-time deal with Ring Of Honor (ROH).
In case you didn’t know...
Cody Rhodes (real name- Cody Runnels) is the son of WWE Hall-of-Famer Dusty Rhodes (Virgil Runnels) and younger brother of Goldust (Dustin Runnels). Cody performed on the WWE’s main roster from 2007 until May of last year mostly under the name Stardust before he requested his release from the company.
The 31-year old has since wrestled for several pro-wrestling promotions all over the world including Impact Wrestling, ROH, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and EVOLVE among others.
The heart of the matter:
As we had previously reported, Cody has been on the lookout for a new “home” as of late, in order to cut back on the exhausting international travel schedule that he’s grown accustomed to over the past few months.
The former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion has reportedly signed a full-time contract with the ROH organisation- a promotion where he has previously performed against Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels and Steve Corino.
What’s next?
Cody was recently involved with Impact Wrestling and lost an Impact Grand Championship match against Moose. Nevertheless, his run as an Impact part-timer has now come to an end, and fans can expect to see Cody on ROH cards in the days to come.
Author’s take:
After travelling the world in what’s been a crazy few months for Cody, it’s good to see the talented performer finally zero-in on a- in his words “home”- at Ring Of Honor.
Here’s looking forward to some great matchups from the former WWE Superstar inside the ROH ring.
