ROH News: Cody Rhodes wants to recruit female members to the Bullet Club
What’s the story?
Ahead of this weekend’s ROH: Supercard of Honor XII event in New Orleans, Bullet Club’s Cody Rhodes took part in a Facebook live stream on Ring of Honor Wrestling’s official page.
During the exclusive interview, “The American Nightmare” assured that the Bullet Club will indeed recruit female wrestlers in the near future.
In case you didn’t know…
Ever since the group’s inception in 2013, the Bullet Club have procured only two female members in the faction’s four and a half year long history.
Billed as “The Bullet Babe” and wife of former member Luke Gallows, Amber Gallows joined the Bullet Club on the 4th of January, 2015 and played the role of a valet for the faction. Meanwhile, CMLL wrestler and former Reina World Tag Team Champion La Comandante was also associated with the Bullet Club in the past and mostly represented Bullet Club Latinoamerica in CMLL.
The heart of the matter
While taking part in ROH’s Facebook Live stream, Cody Rhodes claimed that as the rightful “leader” of the Bullet Club he is going to start recruiting female members to The Biz Cliz and apparently, “The American Nightmare” also has two names in his mind, but eventually decided not to reveal them.
“Two in mind, which is a secret. All this nonsense, 'Well, New Japan doesn't have women,' well, the world has women. Women of Honor. We have the tournament finals at Supercard of Honor, come on! The Bullet Club needs women and not just, 'Oh, they're kinda in, but kinda not,' no, they need to be official members brought into the fold of the Bullet Club."
On the other hand, ROH’s newest signee Tenille Dashwood AKA Emma in WWE also teased the possibility of joining the Bullet Club sometime down the road, in the near future.
What’s next?
Cody Rhodes will go head-to-head against Kenny Omega, tomorrow in New Orleans as part of ROH: Supercard of Honor XII.
Author’s take
Bullet Club potentially recruiting female members will certainly break all sorts of barriers for women’s wrestling around the globe and now that ROH has finally decided to capitalize on their Women of Honor division, this very much seems like a possibility.
