What's the story?

Much like every year, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling are all set to host the Global Wars tour this year as well. The tour will have four events in four different cities in the US and will feature stars from both ROH and NJPW.

On 26th September 2017, ROH announced the very first match of the tour which is going to see Kenny Omega make his return to the company and defend his IWGP US Heavyweight Title against Yoshi-Hashi. The rest of the matches were initially revealed on Ring of Honor’s official website as matches for all four nights has now been confirmed.

In case you didn’t know…

The Global Wars tour was first initiated in the year 2014 when ROH and NJPW announced a partnership among them and hosted the first-ever show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada later that very same year.

Since then, the Global Wars tour has been a tradition alongside the War of the Worlds tour, where NJPW wrestlers travel to America in order to be a part of the tour.

What’s next?

The Global Wars tour will take place from October 12th to October 15th and will unfold many ROH and NJPW storylines. The four success match cards look really promising and much like every year, the Global Wars tour is expected to deliver and turn out to be a huge success.

Author’s take

The Global Wars tour is one of my favourites, along with the War of the Worlds tour because it brings along ROH and NJPW wrestlers and we as fans get to witness some of our biggest dream matches, for the first time.
