In case you didn’t know…

The dissension between the Bullet Club, more precisely between Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega, started last summer at the G1 Specials in the USA when Rhodes failed to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship off Kazuchika Okada at Long Beach, California.

The two men have been teasing a split among themselves ever since and during last month’s NJPW: New Beginning in Sapporo event, Cody finally betrayed Omega when he attacked “The Cleaner” with a Cross Rhodes. Rhodes then grabbed a steel chair and proceeded to attack Omega with it, before Omega’s former Golden Lovers tag team partner Kota Ibushi ran out to make the save by chasing off the Bullet Club.

The heart of the matter

The relationship between Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes started off in the right manner and the two men have appeared to be on the same page when Cody, a 6-time WWE tag team champion, initially joined the Bullet Club back in December of 2016. However, following the latest dissension between “The Cleaner” and “The American Nightmare” ROH has officially announced that Omega and Cody will collide with each other for the first time ever in the main event of this year’s ROH: Supercard of Honor at the Lakefront Arena.

ROH has also released an official statement on their website and a portion of the statement can be read below:

At Supercard of Honor XII, ROHWrestling.com can confirm that the two will meet ONE ON ONE for the FIRST TIME! Bad blood has been boiling for months between these two and they will try to settle their differences in New Orleans! Who will emerge victoriously? And more importantly, how will this schism affect Bullet Club? Join us in The Big Easy to find out!

What’s next?

The Supercard of Honor pay-per-view will take place on the 7th of April at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, during Wrestlemania 34 weekend.

Author’s Take

Personally, I think that whoever emerges as the winner of this match will become the leader the Bullet Club and will take charge of the faction once and for all, which also means that the loser of this match might have to leave the stable.
