ROH News: The Bullet Club debuts new hand gesture

They have a replacement and it's a pretty sweet one

What's the story?

The Bullet Club earlier went around giving out "too sweets" left and right and then they invaded Raw to really tick off Vince McMahon. The Young Bucks have since received a cease and desist from WWE regarding the too sweet hand gesture, but that won't stop them from going back to the drawing board.

In case you didn't know...

The "too sweet" hand gesture is a time-honoured greeting in pro wrestling which has been used by the Kliq, the nWo, and others. The Bullet Club started using this sign of solidarity among their ranks and nobody had a real problem with it until The Bullet Club upset the WWE when they invaded Raw and re-enacted several classic bits from the DX Invasion, including getting people to say they didn't pay for their tickets when Raw wasn't sold out that night in California.

After that incident, the Young Bucks received a cease and desist and have been ordered not to use WWE's intellectual property anymore referring to the too sweet hand gesture. Therefore Nick and Matt Jackson were forced to pull their merchandise and burn their inventory.

The heart of the matter

The old saying rings true that you can never keep a good man down and that includes The Bullet Club. After all, The Bullet Club is full of plenty of good men. Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and Marty Scrull recently revealed their new signature hand gesture, free from any intellectual property copyrights held by WWE.

They're calling it the "One Sweet" and it looks similar to the former gesture, except only one finger is raised in this newer version.

It is certainly one sweet way to dance around Vince McMahon and co's legal threats.

What's next?

Now that The Bullet Club has a hand gesture they can copyright, I'm sure you'll be seeing it on plenty of merchandise soon.

These guys are promotional machines and have continued to use anything thrown at them as fodder for success, no matter how serious of a situation it might seem.

Author's take

The Bullet Club are playing an amazing cat and mouse routine with WWE at this point and it's a treat to watch it unfold. It's even more fun to report for me, because I thoroughly enjoy The Bullet Club's antics.

These guys continue to impress and don't need the grand stage WWE provides in order to gain notoriety, opportunities, and outstanding royalty checks. In time, WWE might wind up with a couple members, but at this point, it's hard to picture some of The Bullet Club's core members venturing to Vince McMahon and co.
