ROH TV Report (04/12/17): Bully Ray and The Briscoes take on The Kingdom for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships
The show began with a video package of Bully Ray coming to the aid of ROH legends The Briscoes at Manhattan Mayhem. We were then shown a video of The Briscoes and Bully Ray against War Machine and Davey Boy Smith Jr. Bully Ray and The Briscoes faced The Kingdom for their ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships in the main event.
#1 Punishment Martinez vs. Hanson
Martinez started off the match with a forearm, followed by a punch from Hanson. Hanson blocked a spinning heel kick from Martinez and retaliated by pummeling him with a slam. Martinez rolled out of the ring. Hanson launched a suicide dive on Martinez and then took a chair from ringside.
Hanson punched Martinez, thus sending him onto the apron. Hanson went up the ramp and performed a seated splash.
Hanson sent Martinez back into the ring and then clobbered Martinez with a running clothesline into the corner. Hanson attempted an Irish whip, but Martinez countered him with a shoulder block from the top of the turnbuckles and followed it up with a jumping elbow to the corner,
Both men tried to suplex each other until Hanson finally got the better of Martinez. Hanson walloped Martinez with a back body drop and then followed it up with a clothesline in the corner. He belted another clothesline and then performed a cross body. Hanson used a springboard clothesline for a two count.
Both tried assaulting each other with a couple of kicks but missed. Hanson punched Martinez, and Martinez retaliated with a discus forearm. They went back-and-forth with kicks until Martinez swung a forearm. Hanson threw a spin kick for a near fall. Martinez then grabbed Hanson by his throat for a chokeslam, but he managed to escape.
Hanson hit a seated splash on Martinez in the corner and positioned him for a moonsault, but Davey Boy Smith Jr. came out and distracted him, thus allowing Martinez to move out. Martinez finished the match with a jumping kick followed by a chokeslam to take the win.
Result: Punishment Martinez def. Hanson
Post-match we were shown a video package of TK O'Ryan's injury at the 15th Anniversary show. During a tag team match against Dalton Castle and The Boys, O'Ryan broke his leg after jumping too far on an Asai Moonsault and hitting the guard rail.
#2 Curt Stallion vs. John Skyler
The match began with both the participants engaging in a lockup. They broke the hold and then locked up again. Skyler slapped Stallion, and Stallion retaliated with a slap. Stallion and Skyler start going back-and-forth with each other. Skyler locked Stallion in a side headlock and then took him down with a shoulder tackle.
Stallion swung a forearm followed by a dropkick. Skyler went for a sunset flip, but Stallion rolled out and busted out a double stomp.
Skyler rolled outside the ring and Stallion tried to follow him with a suicide dive, but Skyler moved away. After the commercial, Skyler worked over Stallion and pinned him several times for a near fall. Skyler took down Stallion with a Finlay Slam and jumped to connect a senton, but Stallion got his knees up to block his attack.
Skyler smashed Stallion with a Gibson driver for a near fall. Skyler spat on Stallion and then slapped him on his head. Stallion grabbed Skyler by his throat and then pelted him with a couple of kicks.
Skyler attempted a German suplex, but Stallion landed on his feet and hit one of his own. Stallion swung a rolling elbow and then followed it up with a German suplex for a near fall.
Stallion attempted a deadlift German suplex, but Skyler countered. Skyler then tackled Stallion with a slingshot spear for a near fall. Skyler setup Stallion for a Gibson driver, but Stallion countered with a rollup for a near fall.
In the closing moments of the match, Skyler blocked a Frankensteiner and knocked out Stallion with a Super Finlay slam for the win.
Result: John Skyler def. Curt Stallion
Post-match we were shown footage of Adam Cole conversing with The Young Bucks. Cole complained that they weren't picking up his calls or answering his texts. He said that things should go back to the way they were.
After commercial, they showed a video featuring Vinnie Marseglia and Matt Taven discussing who they would chose to be their partner for their match. Silas Young entered and said that he would like to be the third member of The Kingdom.
#3 The Kingdom & Silas Young (c) vs. Bully Ray & The Briscoes for the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships
All six participants started things with an all-out brawl. Jay attacked Marseglia, while Bully Ray attacked Matt Taven. Mark Briscoe walloped Silas Young with a clothesline. Then, Mark and Jay double-teamed Taven with a back body drop followed by a clothesline from Bully Ray.
Bully Ray then hit on Marseglia with a headbutt followed by a chop. Ray kept throwing punches on Marseglia. Marseglia retaliated with a European Uppercut. Ray came back with a back body drop on Marseglia before tagging in Mark Briscoe.
Mark chopped Vinnie and sent him into the turnbuckles and then tagged in Jay. Jay decked Marseglia with a running boot, and Mark knocked down Silas Young off the apron.
Marseglia worked Jay in the corner. Taven tagged in and kicked Jay. Taven slugged Jay with a forearm before tagging in Young. Young kicked Jay and choked him. Vinnie Taven choked Jay, while Young argued with the referee. Young hit a snap mare followed by a knee drop for a two-count.
Young used a belly-to-belly on Jay for another near fall. Vinnie tagged in and worked on Jay for a while. Afterwards, Young tagged in and worked over Jay before he tagged in Mark. Mark kicked Silas Young and smashed Taven with an enzuigiri.
Mark smacked Young on the mat with a German suplex. Marseglia and Taven attacked Mark. Young scored a near fall after slugging Mark with a punch. Taven and Young began arguing. Bully Ray tagged in and cleared the house.
Ray used a Bubba Bomb but only managed to get a two-count. In the final moments of the match, Mark took down Taven with an Uranage, and then along with Ray and Mark hit a 3D for the win.
