ROH/NJPW News: Adam Cole fired from the Bullet Club, replaced by Marty Scurll
What’s the story?
Adam Cole was fired from the Bullet Club by its leader Kenny Omega at RoH’s War of the Worlds pay-per-view. Cole has been replaced by the “Villain” Marty Scurll, who came out after the lights went out and declared his allegiance to the faction.
In case you didn’t know...
Adam Cole is the first and only 3-time Ring of Honour World Champion. He has been the face of the company for quite a few years now.
Cole joined the Bullet Club at last year’s Global Wars event, interrupting the match between Jay Lethal and Colt Cabana and beating them up alongside his fellow Bullet Club partners.
Since early 2017, Adam Cole has not been on the best of terms with his faction mates leading to the speculation that he might break-up with the Bullet Club. Recently, Cole went as far as to try and “fire” his fellow “SuperKliq” members, Matt and Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks.
However, they sorted their differences out and continued wrestling as a team. Here’s the video of that segment:
Earlier this month it was reported that Cole’s RoH Contract had expired and was now a free agent. There has been no news about Cole re-signing with RoH yet.
The heart of the matter
At Ring of Honour’s War of The Worlds tour, Adam Cole lost to NJPW’s Hiroshi Tanahashi in a single’s match. After the match, Cole’s SuperKliq mates, The Young Bucks came out and embraced him.
However, right after this, the leader of the Bullet Club, Kenny Omega appeared on the big screen as the lights went out. Alongside him, was the “Villain” Marty Scurll in his trademark gear.

Omega went on to fire Cole as the arena exploded. The arena continued to be immersed in darkness for a dew minutes and when the lights returned, Scurll appeared in the ring still in complete gear.
Scurll opened his umbrella to reveal the Bullet Club symbol, confirming his allegiance to the iconic faction. The Bucks super-kicked Cole, while Scurll proceeded to hit him with his umbrella.
Scurll then went on to remove his gear to reveal a Bullet Club t-shirt and posed with the Young Bucks as the segment ended.
Here’s the video of the segment:
What’s next?
No news regarding Cole’s re-signing with RoH have surfaced yet. Many consider this segment as his last appearance on RoH. Additionally, Cole’s website has been shutdown which gives rise to the speculation that the former 3-Time RoH Champion might have signed with the WWE.
Author’s take
As a fan, I marked the hell out as this amazing moment went down piece by piece. The angle had the perfect build-up and was executed brilliantly by everyone involved in it.
I would like to see how Marty Scurll turns out as a part of the Bullet Club since his individual run has been phenomenal so far. Recently, he has been a regular on the “Being the Elite” YouTube series run by the Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) hence making the moment more spectacular.
Adam Cole is one of my personal favourites, hence I am eager to see him on the WWE TV and achieve immense success at the biggest promotion of them all.
