Roman Reigns, 3 top champions & more - 5 dream opponents Bobby Lashley may never face in WWE

Bobby Lashley looks almost certain to leave WWE, with his contract reportedly running out soon. The All Mighty potentially brings the curtain down on his second run with the Stamford-based promotion a triple crown champion, having cemented his legacy in the company. The six titles won in his second stint with the company have been the highlight, but the 48-year-old has had many classic feuds as well.

Despite having faced dream opponents such as Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, and Drew McIntyre, multiple hotly-anticipated rivalries have not materialized as yet. If the two-time world champion were indeed to leave the company, we may never see him cross swords with certain opponents under Triple H's stewardship.

Here are five of the biggest dream opponents Bobby Lashley may never face in WWE

#5: Bron Breakker and Bobby Lashley may never get to settle the "best Spear" debate in WWE

Bobby Lashley has drawn parallels to many WWE Superstars over his nearly twenty-year career in the business. Due to his size, move-set, and combat background, The All Mighty has earned comparison to the likes of Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, and Batista, all of whom he has faced in the ring.

However, there is a whole new crop of "big men" that fans would love to see, in Big E's immortal words, "bump meat" with Lashley, such as NXT standout Oba Femi. While the likes of Femi are still a few years away from the main roster, one Bron Breakker has already been on RAW and SmackDown. It would be a big missed opportunity for Lashley to leave without facing the newest master of the Spear.

Given the current situation, it seems that we shall never witness this particular battle of spears

#4 & #3: Bobby Lashley may never face former AEW megastars Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in WWE

Bobby Lashley's first stint in WWE coincided with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes' initial runs with the company. Surprisingly, The All Mighty rarely came into contact with the duo. In The American Nightmare's case, it could be attributed to his lower placing on the card than the future Hurt Business kingpin. In Punk's case, the stars never aligned despite him and Lashley both being top stars on ECW.

Similarly, The Dominator's second spell has overlapped with the former AEW duo's second runs in the Stamford-based promotion, albeit with no contact. Could he have been a challenger for Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship down the road? Could some sort of rivalry with The Second City Saint have materialized in some manner before the end of their careers?

With Lashley possibly leaving, we might never know.

#2: New WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther once seemed certain to clash with Bobby Lashley

For a considerable chunk of 2022, Bobby Lashley and Gunther were concurrently the mid-card champions in WWE. With The Dominator as the United States champion, The Ring General as the Intercontinental champion, and the theme for Survivor Series up to that point being brand warfare, a dream champion vs. champion bout seemed inevitable.

However, the same year saw Triple H and Co. scrap the brand warfare concept in favor of WarGames, shelving the potential hard-hitting spectacle. Fans expected to see the two behemoths eventually cross paths down the road, finally delivering the much-anticipated clash. However, they always seemed to end up on the different brands, and may now never meet.

It seems we shall sadly never find out which of these extremely protected beasts would have emerged victorious in the ring. More importantly, we shall never witness the symphony of chops, spears, suplexes, and powerbombs they would have unleashed upon each other!

#1: Bobby Lashley has never faced the "Tribal Chief" version of Roman Reigns

Ever since Roman Reigns became The Tribal Chief upon his Summerslam 2020 return, he has basically been an entirely different character. His epic heel turn greatly altered his presentation, promo work, and even in-ring style, opening up a whole new field of dream opponents and creative directions. Even now that he has returned as a babyface, Reigns is clearly no longer The Big Dog of old.

The Head of the Table has faced almost every top star in WWE during his current run, with his list of victims running from Matt Riddle to John Cena. One glaring omission from that list is Bobby Lashley, who has himself been a two-time world champion in that time. Who can forget when fans were clamoring for The Hurt Business and The Bloodline to go to war?

Not having a feud between these two dominant megastar masters of the spear could go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities of this era.
