Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to make their first major move as a tag team? Possibility explored
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have a big weekend ahead of them. On October 5, 2024, they will see if their unlikely partnership proves fruitful as they team up against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. However, before they can head to Atlanta, Georgia, for WWE Bad Blood, they could make their first major move as a tag team this Friday on SmackDown.
This has a lot to do with The Tongans. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa represent The Bloodline and are the WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown. And, this Friday, they prepare to defend those titles in what is sure to be an entertaining ladder match featuring them, The Street Profits, and DIY. There is no doubt they are favorites heading in, but Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes might have something to say about that.
Looking to turn the tide in their favor for WWE Bad Blood, Roman Reigns could plan a devastating attack this week on SmackDown. During the Triple Threat Ladder Match, Reigns could come out and lay out The Tongans. However, he may not be alone, as he could convince The American Nightmare to join him in the attack.
Of course, Rhodes would be reluctant at first. But, the opportunity to take out The Tongans and stick it to Solo Sikoa does not present itself every day. That said, this is nothing more than mere speculation.
Roman Reigns will turn his attention to the Undisputed WWE Championship after Bad Blood
The partnership between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes can only be described as a superteam, at least on paper. While they may be the two of the best superstars on the roster, they share an uneasy relationship. After all, The American Nightmare is the one who defeated the Original Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 40 for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Nevertheless, they have set their differences aside so that they can deal with a problem they share: Solo Sikoa. However, when ironing out the details of this partnership, Reigns made one thing clear. When all is said and done, he will be gunning to win back "his" Undisputed WWE Championship.
Things will no doubt get interesting when the two team up in Atlanta. Several questions remain though. Are they really on the same page? Will their past get in the way? And most importantly, will they come out on top? Only time will answer all these questions.
