Roman Reigns to dethrone major WWE Champion at Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania 41? Chances explored
Roman Reigns could headline WrestleMania 41 by defeating Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble. This scenario could lead the Tribal Chief to a big match at The Showcase of the Immortals.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE is discussing a blockbuster Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk feud for WrestleMania 41. The WWE Universe knows Paul Heyman owes CM Punk a favor, but has no idea what it could be. It is speculated Punk won't cash that favor if it doesn't have something big on the line.
For something big to be on the line, Roman Reigns must challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The OTC will have to win that match and The Second City Saint may have to lose the Royal Rumble.
Seeing his WrestleMania main event dream go away once again, The Best in the World could then go to his friend Paul Heyman to encash his favor. This could make Punk vs. Reigns happen at WrestleMania 41 and the Royal Rumble winner choosing to face Cody Rhodes instead of the OTC.
This sounds like an exciting storyline, however, it could all mean nothing if The Rock decides to make himself available. As per online reports, The Rock is not working WrestleMania 41, but, never say never.
Triple H always knew Roman Reigns was the next big thing
Roman Reigns is the biggest superstar of the pro wrestling industry in this era. He calls the plays now and lights up the crowd whenever he makes an appearance on WWE TV. However, Triple H claimed he knew Reigns had this crazy potential a decade ago.
Speaking on the Rommates Show, the WWE Chief Content Officer explained his first impression of Roman Reigns when NXT just started.
"The first day I met him, I sat down with him for 20 minutes just to get to know him a little bit. Walked out of the interview and, at the time, Dusty Rhodes was working in developmental with me. I walked up to Dusty and said, ‘If that kid is not the biggest star we ever have in ten years, I don’t know what we’re doing. Holy s***. He has everything. When he walked in the room, you couldn’t help but look at him and go, ‘Who is that?’ He has an innate X-factor charisma."
Reigns' next match is against Solo Sikoa on RAW's debut on Netflix. Both Samoan Superstars will battle each other to become the only Tribal Chief of their family bloodline.
