Roman Reigns to get betrayed but not by Cody Rhodes; legend to turn heel? 5 WWE betrayals to watch out for in the coming weeks
Like Roman Reigns, who will team up with long-time rival Cody Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood, several other WWE stars may have entered dangerous territory recently. Fans might want to prepare for several shocks before the year ends.
The most heartbreaking and intriguing moments in professional wrestling occur when a beloved star betrays their long-time ally. These moments are instrumental in creating great storylines, like the awesome rivalry Sami Zayn had with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on the road to WrestleMania 39.
Several such moments may also be in store for the fan base this year. Without further ado, here are five possible betrayals that could happen in 2024.
#5. Kevin Owens could betray Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes has decided to play with fire as he will team up with his greatest rival to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood 2024. He had a dramatic confrontation with The Tribal Chief, and Kevin Owens wasn't pleased to see the new alliance.
After all the help Owens offered to Rhodes to finish the story against Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, he is justifiably disappointed with his long-time friend. Things even got heated between the two on WWE SmackDown, but Randy Orton stepped in to ensure no lines were crossed. However, the heat may reach an all-time high soon and Kevin Owens could revert to his Prizefighter persona and betray The American Nightmare very soon.
#4. Naomi could unleash her dark side
Naomi is undoubtedly among the most respected names on WWE's women's roster. However, her current run hasn't been very fruitful as she hasn't won any gold yet.
On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, she walked away from ringside after her loss against long-time ally and real-life friend Bayley. Considering things haven't been going as she would like them to, Naomi could finally snap and betray Bayley. She could prevent her friend's victory at Bad Blood, starting a very personal rivalry. This move could make her a Women's Champion soon.
#3. Sami Zayn could break everyone's heart
Sami Zayn has undoubtedly been one of the most beloved babyfaces over the last few years, especially because of his feud with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. However, he may not remain the same if he loses to Gunther with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line.
Zayn was unable to defeat Bron Breakker at SummerSlam and the following week on RAW, but his long-time friend Jey Uso managed to pull it off on the latest WWE RAW episode to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Sami Zayn could go berserk after consecutive losses and betray Jey Uso to go after the Intercontinental Championship soon.
This could likely be the most heartbreaking betrayal for the fans who loved Jey and Sami's chemistry in The Bloodline.
#2. Tiffany Stratton could betray Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship
Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax joined forces a few months ago and things have not been the same between them since Nia Jax became the WWE Women's Champion.
Tiffany agreed she would not cash in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia, but her actions have spoken louder than words as she seemingly tried to cash in on her ally on more than one occasion. If fans are lucky enough, the much-anticipated betrayal could happen at Bad Blood 2024. Tiffany Stratton could pull the trigger to cash in and dethrone Nia Jax as the WWE Women's Champion. This would lead to an intriguing feud involving the two heels on SmackDown.
#1. Roman Reigns to suffer a betrayal again?
Ever since Roman Reigns returned to the company at SummerSlam 2024, fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of Jimmy Uso, who suffered a vicious assault at the hands of The Bloodline a few months ago and hasn't been around since then.
Considering Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes may require help to balance the numbers against The Bloodline at Bad Blood, fans expect Jimmy Uso to return and join The Original Tribal Chief. However, the multi-time tag team champion could return and betray Roman Reigns. This is possible as The Head of The Table always used Jimmy's help but didn't help him in return against Jey Uso and The Bloodline. Also, Solo Sikoa is Jimmy Uso's sibling so he could choose his brother over his cousin.
Keeping these factors in mind, the anticipated Bloodline Civil War could look very different from what most fans imagine. One thing's for sure, fans will enjoy every bit of it.
