Roman Reigns' issues with Jey Uso explained
Jimmy Uso returned to SmackDown and told Roman Reigns they needed backup to take on the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline. While Reigns refused to get help and said, “No Yeet,” he apparently agreed with his cousin after the heel stable outnumbered him in the main event. Big Jim appeared on this week's RAW to convince his brother Jey Uso to rejoin the group, but he declined. Following this, fans wonder what the issue is between Jey and Roman.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso have a long history together. The WWE Intercontinental Champion was the first official family member to join The Original Tribal Chief in 2020 to form The Bloodline. Afterward, the cousins had an intense rivalry.
Later, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa joined. By the end of 2022, The Bloodline was in its prime, with almost every single member draped in gold. However, things started to fall apart for the faction after Sami Zayn turned his back on Reigns at Royal Rumble 2023, planting seeds of tension between the Usos and The Original Tribal Chief.
Jimmy Uso also turned on Reigns at Night of Champions 2023. Jey Uso joined him on SmackDown by superkicking Reigns. The Original Tribal Chief injured Jimmy, and Jey was booked to face Roman in a Tribal Combat match at SummerSlam 2023.
Jey Uso was winning the match, but before he could cover Roman for the victory, a hooded man pulled his leg, revealing his identity as Jimmy Uso and costing him his biggest bout. After enduring betrayals from his family over and over again, Main Event Jey left the blue brand and is now enjoying his singles stint on RAW.
It looks like Jey Uso and Roman Reigns will reunite momentarily; seeds were planted on last week’s edition of the red brand. In real life, The Original Tribal Chief and Jey Uso do not hate each other; this is all part of the storyline.
Does Jey Uso still consider Roman Reigns the Tribal Chief?
Although Jey Uso has remained out of the Bloodline saga since joining RAW last year, despite how things ended on a bad note between the cousins, the Intercontinental Champion still keeps his former leader of the Bloodline above all.
In a conversation with the Gorilla Position podcast post-WrestleMania XL, Jey Uso was asked to choose his Tribal Chief between The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa. The YEET Master answered that Roman Reigns would always be his Tribal Chief as he brought them to the “promised land.”
It remains to be seen how Triple H and the creative team will book Jey Uso and when he will reunite with Reigns against Solo’s Bloodline.
