Roman Reigns' past coming back to haunt him? - 4 Things Drew McIntyre can do after returning on WWE RAW
WWE Monday Night RAW was a massive show last night. There was an incredible fight and tons of tension between CM Punk and Seth Rollins, plus further issues involving Rollins thanks to his confrontation with Sami Zayn.
That confrontation led to a challenge and a main event match. Seth Rollins went one-on-one with Sami Zayn in the final bout of the evening. The match was a good one, but in the end, it was The Visionary who stood tall.
Once Seth made his way out of the ring and towards the back, a dejected and frustrated Sami Zayn was attacked from behind. He became victim to a Claymore Kick, with Drew McIntyre quickly revealing himself as the attacker.
This marked Drew's first appearance on television in two months following his brutal fight with CM Punk at Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell. Now that The Scottish Warrior is back, what is next? This article will look at several directions for the former world champion.
Below are four things Drew McIntyre can do after returning to WWE RAW.
#4. He could attack Roman Reigns on WWE SmackDown next
Drew McIntyre has issues with a lot of WWE stars, but his arch-nemesis isn't even a member of the Monday Night RAW roster. Instead, his biggest foe is the main star of World Wrestling Entertainment: Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns is a member of the WWE SmackDown roster and will likely be appearing on Friday's episode. In what could be a stunning turn of events, Drew could show up on the blue brand to confront or even outright attack The OTC.
McIntyre has two years' worth of rage built up towards Roman. While he's taken some of it out on others, namely Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, attacking Reigns would be an incredible experience for Drew, especially if he doesn't have family around to back him up. Jimmy Uso being his only stablemate on SmackDown could be bad news for The Head Of The Table.
#3. Drew McIntyre could battle Sami Zayn or Jey Uso at Saturday Night's Main Event
WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2024 aired this past Saturday. The show was the final premium live event for the main roster until February's Royal Rumble event. With that being said, it isn't the last supercard Triple H is booking.
Saturday Night's Main Event is returning later this month on December 14. The show will air live from Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. So far, Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens, Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY, and a handful of other bouts have been booked for the show.
In what could be another big match added to the lineup, Drew McIntyre could battle either Sami Zayn or Jey Uso. He potentially attacked Jey and certainly assaulted Sami, so either match likely makes sense. McIntyre would add even more star power to what looks to be a stacked show.
#2. He could continue the CM Punk rivalry
While Roman Reigns is the arch-rival of Drew McIntyre, his most heated and violent rivalry actually came this year. He and CM Punk had what is arguably the best rivalry in all of WWE in 2024 and perhaps one of the best ever.
The two wrestled three times, but they hospitalized each other and cut scathing promos on the other star multiple times since Survivor Series WarGames 2023. What was seemingly their final bout took place at WWE Bad Blood when they battled inside Hell in a Cell.
Notably, Drew lost that match. McIntyre rarely handles losses well and might not want to end the feud on the losing end. As a result, he could choose to continue his feud with CM Punk. He could even claim the attacks on Sami and potentially Jey were due to their recent affiliation with The Second City Saint.
#1. McIntyre could challenge John Cena to a match at the 2025 Royal Rumble
The final direction for this list has nothing to do with recent rivals. It doesn't even include The Bloodline. Instead, Drew McIntyre could be focused on ruining somebody else's 2025.
John Cena is a WWE legend, but in a twist to his theme song, his time is just about up. The Hollywood star revealed he would have a year-long run in 2025, but it would be the last time he ever wrestles. Dates announced so far include the Royal Rumble, the RAW Netflix debut, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania.
Drew could decide to try to ruin Cena's retirement tour by immediately challenging him to a singles match at the 2025 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. He could either hope to ruin the start of his tour or even aim to injure Cena and end the retirement tour early. Either option makes sense for a man like Drew.
