Roman Reigns' real-life best friend to confront The Bloodline at SummerSlam? Exploring potential swerve

Roman Reigns is expected to make his return this weekend at SummerSlam, but it will be interesting to see if the WWE Universe is swerved and it's someone else who decides to step up to The Bloodline instead.

Roman Reigns has noted several times that his real-life best friend is R-Truth, who is definitely someone who has the character to step into a fight with The Bloodline accidentally. Truth and The Miz are former Tag Team Champions and if The Bloodline is successful on SmackDown this week and walks out with the titles, they could become a target for Awesome Truth.

Just like their attacks on Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, and Randy Orton, the greatest way for the group to get heat would be to attack R-Truth, since he is one of the most beloved stars on the roster. Truth is over on RAW so he isn't aware of the destruction that has been caused by the new Bloodline over the past few months.

Truth could approach them to congratulate them on their title win at SummerSlam and accidentally become a target. This would even further push the idea that Roman Reigns will make his return to take them out because of how close the two men are outside of the ring.

WWE fans are aware of Roman Reigns' friendship with R-Truth

Much like CM Punk being real-life best friends with Kofi Kingston, which was recently referenced following his return, the WWE Universe is aware that Reigns is best friends with Truth outside of the ring.

Reigns has worked closely with many wrestlers throughout his career including the likes of Seth Rollins, Jon Moxley, and several family members like The Usos. That being said, R-Truth is the most likely person to step up to The Bloodline at SummerSlam in the absence of Reigns, even though it is hoped that Reigns will be making his return to confront his cousin Solo Sikoa.
