Roman Reigns to return to WWE SmackDown as a full-timer? Exploring his upcoming schedule
Roman Reigns is one of the biggest stars in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut, and fans yearn to see him every week on WWE television. However, the Original Tribal Chief has adopted a part-time schedule in recent years, as he has been making sporadic appearances. It looks like the landscape is set to change once again as WWE has revealed the schedule of the 39-year-old for the upcoming months.
Following the Bad Blood PLE, Roman Reigns is scheduled to make regular appearances on SmackDown, leading up to Survivor Series: WarGames. He is advertised for the October 11, October 18, and October 25 episodes of the show. Fans are in for a treat, as they would get to behold The OTC's presence the entire month, starting with Bad Blood on October 5.
Moreover, Reigns will also show up on the November 8, November 15, and November 22 episodes, which will see the buildup of the feuds and storylines for Survivor Series: WarGames. Although WWE has not advertised Roman for the go-home edition of SmackDown before the PLE, there are high chances he would also mark his presence there.
The Bloodline saga is currently in an exciting phase, where several monumental moments are expected to unfold—the return of Jimmy Uso, the reunion of The Usos, and the reformation of the O.G. Bloodline. Therefore, Roman Reigns' appearance would be paramount in the progression of the ongoing storyline on SmackDown in the coming weeks.
Even though The OTC is set to make regular appearances on the upcoming WWE shows, his full-time status is expected to continue only until Survivor Series 2024. Following that, Reigns could once revert to his part-time schedule or might even continue to appear regularly on shows.
Will Roman Reigns compete at Crown Jewel 2024?
Crown Jewel is set to be the next PLE after Bad Blood. The marquee event will take place on November 2. WWE has not yet advertised Roman Reigns for the grand spectacle in Riyadh. Will the former Universal Champion miss the event?
The chances of it happening are relatively low. The Stamford-based promotion leaves no stone unturned to add grandeur to the shows in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Reigns is likely to compete at the monumental event, as per Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer.
Moreover, The Bloodline saga has been simmering at a boiling point. Therefore, The OTC missing a PLE in the lead-up to Survivor Series: WarGames could be a huge blunder. Hence, Roman Reigns is expected to be part of a blockbuster match at Crown Jewel this year.
Meanwhile, the Original Tribal Chief will join forces with Cody Rhodes for a tag team match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in Atlanta.
