Roman Reigns to reveal powerhouse star as his new enforcer, Cody Rhodes betrayed? 3 twists that could take place on SmackDown
The WWE Universe has been buzzing since the return of Roman Reigns at SummerSlam last weekend. The Original Tribal Chief returned and attacked Solo Sikoa during his match against Cody Rhodes, helping the champion pick up the win. Though Reigns returned alone, the former Universal Champion could have an ace up his sleeve.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes retained the WWE Championship in a hard-fought battle against The Bloodline as he received help from Randy Orton, Kevin Owens as well as his old rival Roman Reigns. But the future may hold more troubles for the fan-favorite. Let's take a look at 3 possible twists for SmackDown:
3) Roman Reigns to reveal Jacob Fatu as his enforcer
Jacob Fatu joined Solo Sikoa's Bloodline as his enforcer and has since been doing handy work for Sikoa. He even attacked Cody Rhodes during their match at SummerSlam, apparently injuring his leg while hitting a top rope splash on Rhodes during the match.
Reports suggest that Fatu isn't actually injured and was told to sell the injury. This could all be a ploy by The Tribal Chief, who could reveal on SmackDown that Jacob Fatu has always been on his side and is his enforcer, not Sikoa's.
Fatu's 'leg injury' could have been a signal for Roman Reigns to come out and attack the 'new' Tribal Chief. It could also give an excuse to Fatu for not being able to come to Sikoa's aid when Reigns attacked him. After joining Roman Reigns, Fatu could relinquish his half of the tag team championship.
2) Kevin Owens to betray Cody Rhodes
Kevin Owens has been battling The Bloodline for over three years now. However, The Prizefighter has often taken the backfoot and let Cody Rhodes take center stage during their war with The Bloodline. Owens was brutally attacked by the Samoans and Tongans a few weeks back and still returned to help Rhodes at SummerSlam.
On SmackDown, Cody Rhodes could thank Roman Reigns for saving him. This may not go down well with Owens who could start turning bitter against Rhodes. Despite always being there for Cody, Owens could feel neglected and unappreciated, prompting him to turn on Rhodes and attack him. Thus, setting up a feud between the two men.
1) AJ Styles to target LA Knight
LA Knight finally won his first major championship in WWE by defeating Logan Paul for the United States title. The Megastar had been chasing gold for the past year and finally managed to win the championship at SummerSlam. However, Knight would need a worthy opponent to establish his reign as a credible champion.
Who better for the job than former WWE Champion AJ Styles? The Phenomenal One was last seen battling Cody Rhodes in a vicious I Quit match. While Styles quit and lost the match, he earned everyone's respect for his brave effort. He is slated to return on SmackDown and could go after his old rival LA Knight and renew their heated rivalry.
