Roman Reigns Rumors: The Big Dog refused Vince McMahon's offer to be part of a major pay-per-view
What's the story?
As per Fightful, Roman Reigns had informed Vince McMahon and other WWE officials that he would not want to return to Saudi Arabia. He had informed The Chairman of his intentions before he vacated the Universal Championship last year, after which he took some time off from WWE to focus on his battle with Leukemia.
This clearly indicates that Reigns did not want to be a part of the Crown Jewel event that took place in November in Saudi Arabia.
John Cena and Daniel Bryan were two other Superstars who did not participate at Crown Jewel.
In case you didn't know...
Roman Reigns, although a former multi-time WWE Champion, won his first Universal Championship at Summerslam 2018 when he defeated his long-time rival Brock Lesnar. However, unfortunately, for The Big Dog, he had to relinquish his Universal Championship on the 22 October edition of RAW, due to the return of Leukemia after 11-years.
After a hiatus of almost 5-months, the former US Champion made his return to WWE this week on RAW when he addressed the WWE Universe and gave them the good news that his condition is much better now, and the cancer is in remission.
The heart of the matter
It is great to know that Roman Reigns was one of the few Superstars who took a stand against performing in Saudi Arabia due to the poor political climate.
Roman Reigns was originally set to defend the Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match at Crown Jewel.
What's next?
With Wrestlemania right around the corner, we will have to wait and see what role Reigns will be playing at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
