Roman Reigns to secretly help Cody Rhodes? - 4 ways Triple H can shock us on WWE SmackDown tonight
We are all set for tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown which will see the fallout from Clash at the Castle as well as set the tone for Money in the Bank. Triple H may have planned a handful of surprises for tonight's show, but there could be a few potential swerves that could truly blow the fans' minds. These include unexpected allegiances, shocking returns, merciless beatdowns, and brutal betrayals.
Here, we look at four ways Triple H can shock everyone on WWE SmackDown this week. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. Drew McIntyre returns and attacks CM Punk on WWE SmackDown in Chicago
Last Saturday, Drew McIntyre was inches away from clinching a fairytale victory when he challenged Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, CM Punk's surprise interference cost The Scottish Warrior his title in Scotland, and the latter shocked fans by quitting WWE on RAW earlier this week.
Tonight's episode of SmackDown will air from Chicago, CM Punk's hometown. The Best in the World is scheduled to make an appearance. We could see Triple H book McIntyre's return on the blue brand for a one-off appearance where he mercilessly attacks Punk. This would account for a memorable surprise on SmackDown and could set up their potential match at SummerSlam.
#2. Roman Reigns sends a message to Solo Sikoa
To say that Solo Sikoa has gone rogue since taking over The Bloodline would be an understatement. Sikoa has set his sights on Cody Rhodes after brawling with the Undisputed WWE Champion following his successful title defense against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle. We may see Solo Sikoa and his entourage meet with Cody Rhodes to officially set up their title feud on SmackDown this week.
However, we could see a shocking turn of events. Paul Heyman may advise the new Bloodline leader against challenging Rhodes. He could eventually reveal that it was a command from Roman Reigns, giving Sikoa more ammo to attack Heyman and declare war against The Head of the Table. This would set him up for two massive feuds on SmackDown, including a Bloodline Civil War.
#3. Jade Cargill turns on Bianca Belair on WWE SmackDown
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair had a promising run as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions until they dropped the titles at Clash at the Castle in a Triple-Threat Match. Despite their best efforts, the champions ultimately lost the gold to Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. it is worth noting that Dawn pinned Shayna Baszler to win the title, giving Belair and Cargill a legitimate reason to ask for a title rematch.
While they are not expected to regain the championships, we may see Cargill turn on Belair after the result. It might not be the wisest decision to break them up just yet, but it would be a shocker nonetheless.
#4. New WWE Tag Team Champions to be crowned
The reigning WWE Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) are currently engaged in a feud with DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa). Last week, the two teams got into an altercation after things went wrong on The Grayson Waller Effect. Interestingly, the show also witnessed Grayson Waller repeatedly putting his tag team partner Austin Theory in harm's way while discrediting his contribution to their title reign.
We may see Austin Theory and Grayson Waller put their Tag Team Titles on the line against DIY on SmackDown where they could lose the gold. However, a title loss will likely lead to Waller attacking Theory to set up their feud and the latter's much-awaited face turn.
